Anyone using a SD card for Music?
Can the files be MP3? Also, does the card have to be formatted with exFAT?
Anything else I need to know?
Thanks,

All I would add is that if you a large collection of music on the card, it can take some time to index itself before you can use it. It appears to do this every time you remove the card.
I also spotted that if you have music on a USB stick as well it combines to the two sources for searching and play back. Pretty neat idea.

I have successfully used a USB 3.0 stick (FAT32), a USB 2.0 stick (FAT32), and have been able to stream various audio files AND Video formats (.mkv, .m4v, .mov) in 1080P and 720P.
See this little demo I did with Top Gear from the USB 3.0 stick, NOT DVD

Ok that's cool. One thing I could not do tonite however is transfer my Audio cd to the register.
It will do SD card but not CD. That's odd cause the w204 would almost always do an audio CD transfer.
Any one for any advice?

I wish I could take the system atleast into my house to play around more with it... or possibly have a remote connection to it and play around from my room

Mr Enigma, what tool/app is that? and how to install apps on the car? should check out more... also, does that void warranty?

I'm not sure about the warranty implications...

Sd card
Hello, can anyone tell me what is the maximum capacity of an sd card the vehicle will read. I wanted to buy a 128gb sd card to put all my music, podcasts and a few films on but I'm worried the system won't be able to read it. Has anyone experimented with different sizes?

Question regarding video playback
For video playback it requires the bigger screen with COMMAND Online optional, or just the Audio 20 with touchpad does the trick?
Thanks
Thanks

I was using a 128 gb SD card without any problems. Recently swapped over to a 1 tb hard disk drive, again working without any issues.

Yes' it read the partitions OK - but this was an Audio 20 version, not COMAND, so I'm not entirely certain it will work when I get mine.
What I didn't get around to trying was whether it read music off both partitions, or not (I only had the car for a week's test drive and, of course, didn't think about trying this until the night before it had to go back).

As long as the sampling rate doesn't exceed 44,100 and the bit depth is 16 or less FLAC should play via USB/SD. Maximum file partition is 32GB (I think. 32 is safe, might be more)
