Over $12K in options is "bare bones"? If I added the Driver + Packing Assist Package (a combined $3.5K in options) it would be pretty much fully loaded...
As I said above, I don't need or want the Driver Assistance Package -- mainly because I can drive the car myself, pace myself in traffic myself, hit the brakes myself, and keep the car in my lane myself. Also I don't see a need for the parking assist (although I mildly considered it), because -- you guessed it -- I can park the car myself. I literally can't stand people who back into parking spaces, and I refuse to do it myself because I'm not a redneck in a big Chevy truck who needs to prove his manhood over and over by backing into every parking spot I see...I can easily pull the car into and out of parking space myself (plus I didn't even use the backup camera on my test drive bc I can just turn around and look myself, so the surround camera seems like a surefire waste for me). Call me old fashioned, I guess.
Options look good! I also didn't get the driver assistance as I feel like I don't need it. I do like the 360 camera though.
I don't understand your comment about backing into parking spots. I back in every time I park. Doesn't take me much longer than a front in. The reason being is that its quicker and safer when leaving. You back in and those surrounding cars are always stationary. When leaving there could be people waiting for your spot, flying through the lane. Just seems safer to me backing into a spot..
make no sense. spend over 60k on a car but not willing to get driver assistance package?? i guess it' ok if you dont plan to drive long trip like over 2 hours on freeway. when i have my 2003 c320 coupe, the thing that worry me is if i use cruise control, i worry my car rear ended someone at 80mph if i felt asleep on the wheels.
It might make sense to you, but that doesn't mean it make sense to others. I too didn't get the driver assistance package, it's a package I knew I will never use, so why pay for it? I hardly use my cruise control, even on long highway drive. Maybe I'm weird, maybe I'm old fashion, we are all different, so don't criticize the man if an option you like is not important to him

Completely disagree - that mentality makes no sense. They are called options for a reason.
I didn't take driver's assistance package as I have it in another vehicle and don't really use it or find it necessary. Wasn't worth the cost to me...
Anyone notice what sounds like a seat/headrest adjustment sound coming from the passenger side of the car every couple minutes while driving?
I've been driving around without the audio system on to get a feel for how the engine sounds and I keep hearing a small short adjustment sound every minute or two.
I'm planning on ordering soon with pretty much similar options, except the color. I prefer the Diamond White. What kind of a price did you negotiate?
Negotiationed 12.8% off, went in assuming that 7% off would be my absolute best case.

It could be a million dollar car and it still wouldn't make sense for me to add it. Me, personally...not everyone.
Couldn't tell you the last time I drove more than a few hours, if it's over 3-4 hours I just fly...and if I'm in a pinch and really sleepy with a necessary drive I can just pop an Adderall or drink a 5 hour. I see the value for some people, given their driving habits (long drives, etc), but it makes no sense for me. I'll either be driving to my office or out joyriding on the highway around the city, through the city, etc 90% of the time.

Where I grew up in Ohio it was always a joke amongst my friends and I that all the toothless hillbillies judged their manhood by their ability to back their oversized lifted truck in to a tight parking spot, regardless of how much it held traffic up behind them or how crooked they ended up. Long story and it's really more of an inside joke than anything, no personal offense meant to you...but as a result, I still generally still get irritated when people back in unnecessarily (i.e. not at a busy sporting event where traffic will be a ***** to get out of, etc).

.
12.8% ? sounds like a win, nice job. Being new to the dealer haggling, I wasn't sure how much to expect when I go in April, I've been hearing 5% tossed around here and there. Wold you mind sharing if it took a lot of hardball to get there?

Cash? Wow, no such luck here in Calgary, Canada. But with our Canadian peso, I'm already pretty glad MB didn't charge more as it is. As I'll gladly take my 5%.
if I recall, some cars like 15 years ago, anti lock brake is optional too. rear view camera is optional too until it's requires on all cars in 2017.
It doesn't matter how you try to justify it, your post is rubbish. Criticizing someone for not spending money on an "option" that he will not use is just plain stupid.
Now that that's out of the way, to the guy who was asking, this is the first car negotiation I've ever done myself as well (every other car I've owned my dad purchased for me while I was either in high school or college). I've had some experience negotiating real estate deals and in my other work, and I'm good at it (have studied the theory, etc), but I'm no Donald Trump. I'm by no means an expert and have no real secrets to give, outside of the obvious. To get the 12.8% off I more or less just got lucky, I guess. Don't sell yourself short because this is your first time, go in expecting the world and don't leave until you're happy. Let them know you don't just want to buy a car, you want to build a relationship for the future and make sure you build a connection while you're on the test drive. The more they like you, the more they don't want you to just walk out the door -- for example, since Maritime is an absolutely intolerable human, I'm going to assume he got $0 off because no one can stand to be around him, the dealer included. If he got any discount at all, it's probably because the dealer decided it was worth to just give him a small discount to get him to leave the dealership and get closer to a time when he didn't have to see or talk to him anymore. So, when you're on your test drive and negotiating, think in the back of your mind "Don't be like Maritime, don't be like Maritime, don't be like Maritime". Good luck.

Almost 13% off sticker on a C450...maybe not. I'm sure word is getting around that the 2017 C43 will have the 9G transmission...and the smart people will just wait until the Fall.
