Well, I am not 100% convinced that you can read, so I'll try to keep my reply simple for you (maybe you can ask your video guy for help).

Is the "1.8" some signification of your age? If you want to be taken seriously on this forum (or any other form of social media), refrain from using phrases like "jerk off too nightly," not because you are using "too" incorrectly (but that certainly doesn't help with the perception of you intelligence level), but because it makes you sound like your highest level of education was 10th grade.

Personal...no. I personally could careless what ignorant people try to pass off as gospel. But unfortunately there are people that would read mis-information, like yours, and just assume that it is correct. That, to me, is scary.

I'll bet he "is at least twice and smart as" me. (I wish people like you would at least read what they type... maybe that is asking too much.)

Honestly, I can care less how smart you think you are or how smart you think the guy is, in the video that you posted. Fact is, you have zero knowledge about how Mercedes engines work (and obviously most other manufactures' engines that have been built in this century). Don't try to pass your BS off as fact. And after you get called on you BS, don't try to douche your way into getting people to believe you have a clue... not here.

Try this... try reading one of the M 276 service manuals, or better yet, try asking someone who has, maybe they can clue you in.

I hate when members resort to personal attack, it just do no good. We all have, and is entitled to our own opinion, but that doesn't mean what we think is actually correct. My own opinion is that warming up your car in the cold is totally not necessary, and that's one of the reasons remote start is not available on most cars in Germany. That doesn't mean idling your car in the cold will affect anything, I have no reason to believe it will or will not. I think the Germans are more concerned with pollution and excessive fuel usage than they are with engine wear and tear, but as I said, that's just my opinion

I'm very sorry about the grammatical errors. It was the first thing I did as I woke up and was waiting for my coffee to be done brewing. So no coffee and typing 100wpm, I'm bound to make a few mistakes. Just like you did right there. I only skimmed your post as I don't care what you have to say, but this caught my attention since your theme seems to be attacking my intelligence. But it's "I COULDN'T care less." Not, "I could careless" as you put it. Damn, you must be a moron

Other than that, this is childish so I'm going to be the bigger man and digress.

Aren't Mercedes-Benz amazing cars? I sure think so

Yeah it's the stock "spoiler," but in carbon fiber. I would never have chosen the carbon package (it's the spoiler and both rearview mirrors for a whopping $1750), but I basically got it free since the dealer wanted to move this car instead of waiting 3 months for me to maybe buy the one I would have ordered. But yeah, I like the design too, and the carbon really pops on the silver.

Congrats on the ride! Looks great! Lets see the interior you've been talking about.

How's your patience on the break-in period? Haha

I don't have a good pic yet, but this will do for now? It's fine, but I'd much prefer the black ash.

What break-in period? If the rule is stay under 100, no problem there...

HAHA! So you've been hammering it?? Can't blame ya, these things are beasts even in stock form.

It's a hand built AMG motor man, I would do a good break-in on it. Not the 1000 miles the suggest by any means. But I would do at least 3-400 miles.

vary the RPM's and don't go above 3000 for a short time then work your way up with like 40-50% load. After 200ish miles, in 4th and 5th gears, start getting up to 5-6000 rpm's in manual mode and let the car decelerate back down to idle over and over; This is a great technique to build safe cylinder pressure on a new motor.

Hate to burst your bubble, but as the c63 guys remind us pretty regularly, the 3.0 TT v6 in the c450/43 is not handbuilt. It's just been tuned and tweaked by the maniacs in Affalterbach.

With that said, I have been known to ride em hard and put em away wet.

Yeah, as I understand it, the true break-in rules only apply to the real AMG motors, not our wannabes. That said, it's stupidly fun to drive either way, and I love it. I can't wipe the childish grin off my face, even going 25mph in town here. The sound alone is a beautiful thing.

I think even with regular engines you should still take it easy initially, no? I've always been told that you should at least try to keep it under 2,500-3,000 rpm in the first 500km-1000km.

I'm sure there's merit to that. But how is that even possible with this car?

the 450 is only tuned by AMG. The 43 is now fully built by AMG. At least the c43 coupe I was looking at the other day was. You can tell if it is or not by a signature on the engine.

Dude, the TT V6 in the C43 is a regular, mainstream Mercedes engine built by robots. It is no different from the one in the C450. It is NOT hand built by a single engineer as those engines in the "real" AMGs

i guess the sales guys at my dealership lied to me. I didn't pop the hood to check, but yeah, if there is no signature, it's only a half-breed. Bummer. Although now I feel better about not waiting for the 43 haha

The main difference between the C450 and the C43 is the new 9 speed transmission now in the 43. Other minor changes is the front to rear torque split changes from 33/67 to 31/69, and a new performance exhaust optionally available for the C43. I can't think of any other differences, other than marketing BS by Mercedes.

yeah, I knew about the other stuff, but thought it was full blooded from what I was told and inferred from all that marketing BS. Guess it worked haha

now I'm not going to feel bad if I end up putting a black AMG badge on the rear like I've been contemplating. If the 43 gets it...

I dunno man. Lindenwood is a mile deep of gloss with gorgeous graining. I damn near changed my build to from Ash to Lindenwood. I think the problem is there are no "bad" materials. It makes choosing that much harder. Maybe we could do a swap

The break-in period is a controversial topic. There are people who swear by it, while others prefer to drive it like they stole it. I think one thing that both sides agree upon is that the car should be driven in varying RPM ranges. At the end of the day, it's your car. Drive it how you believe it should be driven.
