iwork4wine: UR welcome. No, I haven't ordered one. I won't until I can actual drive one. Too many drive train changes from the C400. They all look to be very positive changes on paper, but I need to touch and feel prior to committing.

As far as the surround view package goes, a check with MBUSA indicated they are on an option constraint. This means they're available, but not until they lift the option constraint. (I think this is doublespeak, but I can't decode it.) At least one of the two 2015 C400 demos I drove had it so there is hope. Personally, I'd wait a month or two to get the option. One thing still bugs me. I can't get anyone to confirm that the head-up display includes speed limit information.

I took your lead and contacted MBUSA regarding the Surround Camera. They did not tell me anything new but mentioned to check back 7/31 or 8/1 for an update. One positive item was they were going to let me know when the vehicle entered production. Maybe I can get lucky with the surround view camera in the next 2-3 weeks.

I asked them about your head-up display question. The rep indicated that they were working with the speed limit notification on the head-up display for the E-Class but it is definitely a work in process. I asked if a firmware update would provide this information once available and he seemed to think that it would require a different unit and not a software adjustment.

If the lighting is significantly better than $800 is a small price to pay for better vision but if it id gimmicky then why waste the money. Anyone familiar with the 2 lighting options?
I would go for the entire lighting package. One you've had it you can't go back. It makes a substantial difference IMHO.

Thanks for checking again. It all depends on who you talk to. On my BMW the implementation of speed limit requires a behind the mirror camera that reads road signs plus input from the NAVI. I suspect it won't be a simple software change to include it. Too bad. I find it a very valuable tool on the surface streets where I seem to never know for sure what the speed limit is.

Please note, that if you are in the USA you won't get the LED split beam adaption that you see in the movie. If it's like the BMW implementation, everything is there, but it is disabled in the U.S. It is fairly simple to enable, but the dealer won't do it because it hasn't been approved by the DOT. There are numerous BMW hackers that will enable it and lots of other goodies that are different in other countries. On the other hand, maybe MB has obtained DOT approval and you'll get the full functionality.

For the relatively small option price it the lighting package seems well worth the cost. Almost every order posted on C450 MBWorld.org discussion includes the package so I emailed my sales rep to add it today.
One other thing about the 319 Lighting Package - it just looks better

It does look amazing. I guess for $800 option, it is a no brainer. Now if M-B can get it together before launch with the surroundview camera (501) I will be in business.

Agreed... The surround view is crazy, its like having a satellite above the car. The 2015 C Class Sedan Operator Manual actually covers it:

Talking First time poster...got my C450 order in last night!

Hi all, I've been lurking for a while and just wanted to share the deal I made last night on my C450.

With negotiated discount plus an additional $2,500 cash back since I am a USAA member, final price $62,000. Car will delivered in November (which lines up perfectly with the end of my current C300 lease).

So excited about this car!

Congrats DeeSass on the C450 order. It is a nice looking vehicle you put together. Polar White was my second choice for an exterior color.

I tried to add the 319 Light Package but any changes are locked for production that is expected to commence on 8/1. It should definitely be a sweet ride.

Not sure if the AMG steering wheel will have the red stripe (because my build shows that also, and I ordered the designo Platinum White Performance Seat Package).

No worries... (the configurator on the German site rocks www.mercedes-benz.de).

I agree, the stripe looks sweet (I just hope mine has one and its white ).

ViperShade you do good work! I think you are hired. I enjoy seeing what everyone else is ordering/buying too!

DeeSass is hired too as a price negotiator! What a rock'n deal.

Yeah, I like seeing all of these builds also... and it helps to kill the time waiting for mine to be built.

Yours is an August build...that's awesome, mine is an October build (ordered on 7/2 - I missed the first build spot at my dealer). I'm hoping (like you were) to slide the surround view into the build, but that idea is quickly fading.

Here is my build (with the 235 Parktronic w/ Active Parking Assist in place of the 996 Surround View package ).

I wanted to see everything that the car came with, so I had him print the standard equipment also.

Wow I like everyone's setup here, very loaded indeed. Here is my order that I placed last month. I have been notified that it is now in a red state, so no additional changes may be made to my vehicle anymore.

I kept mine simple but enough to satisfy my needs: lighting, leather, panorama, rear cam

The dealer offered me 5% discount off the bat + free wheel locks and all weather MB mats,
total came out to be 54,097 with destination/dealership fee included:

Very nice! We can't let your build go without a few pics

EDIT: fixed the configurator input... interior should be good now.

Congrats on your order!! That is a rock'n scooter. What is the estimated delivery date, December?

If anyone is waiting on the surround view package with the 360 camera camera it looks like January 2016 is the earliest you will see one in a C450. My sales rep checked while I unsuccessfully tried adding the lighting package.

TM,

If my sales rep is accurate we are going to see the vehicles at our local dealers on 9/1. They will not release the vehicles ahead of the national launch but it sounds like the vehicles are getting built ahead-of-time.

I placed the deposit on the vehicle on 1/12 after the rumors were confirmed at the Detroit International Auto Show. We are certainly early in the order bank. I think my neighbors with Audi A4/A5 and BMW 335xi are seriously going to be depressed after a glimpse of the Merc.

Thanks man!

Mine is scheduled for an early October build with a late October delivery.

If the surround view is going to be January (meaning most likely a late January early February delivery), I am thinking that I will most likely bag it. I love the option, but I don't really feel like waiting 3 extra months.
