I tried 2 starts from a dead stop today to test the response of the C450.Both times I got a serious bog for about .5 sec before it accelerated.I was in sport+ mode but forgot to turn off the antiskid function.Wondering if this is turbo lag or due to lack of low end torque. Not possible to get good accel times if this persists.

I haven't really tried to push a start yet (still have a few hundred miles to put on), I'll talk to my AMG contact and get the optimal settings.

I wanted to go with renntech but their tunes did not come close to the stats that these are supposedly putting out. its extremely impressive if they actually are able to come through on it. And they seem to have been able to have done it. we will see next week

Yup, I'm going with the Sport Seats so it could theoretically be an option...but it doesn't look like *****'s guy is seeing it in the system still.
I went to dealer today, and I looked on the order screen ..the choice was not there. ..It was shown on the paper brochure as some item code and "ventilated seats" under premium package..same package with the heating seats, but the designation and number were not on order screen.
There is a switch on the center console to turn the antiskid on or off.
oh. thank you for replying..I thought it was automatically off during sport +
I have only test driven the car couple times...waiting to take delivery
so the anti skid function..is that similar to traction control? Sorry coming from BMW. If i turned off traction control, then i could get a clean launch on my bmw..it wouldn't be stopping power to my wheels.
Given that this car is 4matic, i would think that you woulnd't need to turn anti slip off. Too bad this car doesn't have an LSD though.

Good luck with that. The only thing that turned me off about VR was that in some thread, the company mentioned that it was tested for 4-6 weeks. That seemed like a very short time for me.

Thanks Viper.Let me know what he says.I only have about 550 miles on mine, but I adhere to a break in schedule more agressive than what manufactures recommend.I don't beat it to death, but I do go up & down the rpm range and manually shift the trans. After 500 miles I go to full throttle from a dead stop but only to about 50 mph. This method has served me well in my more than 20 new cars.I have never had a problem and none of my new cars ever used any oil between changes, which I do every 5000 miles.

I will have to read up on it some to be sure, but i believe it is the same as BMW traction control.I just came from 2 BMW (545I & 550I)and I absolutley needed to turn traction control off to get good times.Maybe Mercedes has the antiskid feature too sensitve and kicks in with the slightest wheel spin.
Has anyone come across the 2016 PDF version of the operator's manual?
They ship it with the 450:
But the newest PDF that I have seen is:
It is definitely different (for example, p. 113 shows what appears to be the way to shutoff the anti-glare mirrors in the 2016 version; p. 107 is the equivalent page in the 2015 version but the information is just a very small subset).

I did some research and found more info. The proper name for the function is ESP.With the ESP disabled it will not prevent wheelspin or reduce engine torque as done when ESP is active. It does not disable traction control which allows the system to direct power to the wheels with the best traction, either side to side or changes the front to back torque split. So in summary turn ESP off when testing acceleration, traction control should not be a problem. It does't appear that you can turn traction control off.Hope this is of some help.

I was under the impression that the torque split is fixed 33:67 front to rear, and under no circumstances will that split change, am i wrong?

Not sure on this one,but I think when you disable ESP,which allows wheelspin, traction control will direct torque to the wheels that are not spinning. In other words if you have the L front and the R rear spinning, torque will be directed to the the R front and the Left rear.It is also possible both rear wheels are spinning and all power would be directed to the front wheels. The owners manual gives a description on how traction control works and what I described above is my understanding.I think the 33:67 split is with all controls on.

iridium is all over the c picture thread. iridium is a silver that is closer to white in color. palladium is more similar to grey.
My dealer asked if I wanted it when he delivered the car. I said it looks better without, but I'd sacrifice the aesthetic in lieu of getting a ticket here.
