well he does state that he plugged the system into a MB computer which lets him listen to the frequencies being generated from the audio speakers and if all he hears is static would that not mean that there is no exhaust notes being generated? I am not a mechanic but that's what I would assume
They may be using a seperate transducer like the Soundaktor Audi uses.
You are correct that TR will offer a RTV when the tires do not fit. I just had packaging materials shipped to me today. Refer to Jane's email from TireRack
Thank you for your patience. Our techs agree that we need to bring the package back because they are concerned that we don’t have the right vehicle scanned into our database to confirm fitment with the larger Brembo brakes.
They’re thinking it could be a performance brake package dealer installed upgrade. We don't know and need to scan a car with the same setup to confirm fitment.
I am sending you packaging material to package these up and send them back. Below is also a link on how to repackage:
Please let me know when these would be available for pick-up. Since it was a fitment issue, you will receive credit in full.
In the meantime, I’ll see if Butch is able to find a different fitment for you. I’m not sure if we can guarantee anything since the car is so new and it appears we may not have had a good vehicle scan on the package with the bigger brakes.
I have other information. I contacted MBUSA customer service and they will offer a tire package (allegedly on 11/15) that includes the items in pic 1.
To me this is worthless since the Pilot Alpin PA4's are non-run flat tires. I do not like run flats but I like spare tires in my trunk even less.
I am actually going to pursue OEM rims in Canada since they are about half the price as in the US. M-B Toronto is selling the OEM rims for CAD $3,257 (~$2,450 USD). My local dealership is selling each rim for $1,254 and they are on back-order, Ughhh. I am not sure if they will ship them but we'll see tomorrow. Maybe I can bribe one of my on-line Canadian buddies to ship the rims.
As a follow-up to my earlier post, since the rims have become such an issue with the tire manufactures and M-B not having the 18" OEM rims in stock in the US, I have elected to swap-out the tires and use my 19" rims.
I purchased 5 Pirelli run flat tires from 1010Tires in Canada since TR does not have as good of selection. I hope they have the tires in stock and end the nightmare. Anyone searching for winter tires best of luck hopefully TR will have some options very soon.
I know the C450 just got released and am seriously looking at purchasing one. However, I'm worried about all the issues reported in the C300 for 2015. Does anyone know if there are similar issues with the 2016 C450 such as premium sounds issues, keyless doesn't work, etc.
I'm looking at Leather so bleeding isn't an issue, but the model I'm looking at his Drive Assist and Parktronic. Neither of which are needed, but it's all the dealer has.
Ok, so in Canada I can now order "AMG Performance Seats." Anyone have these? Some sites suggest they are not comfortable, others suggest they are awesome. I believe they only come in black?
The Canadian configurator is I think is broken as choosing this option won't invalidate the 1900 buck upgrade to Cranberry Nappa for example.
They look really cool - love the integrated headpiece, but if they aren't comfortable and probably invalidate my idea of having a red interior, maybe not for me.
P
I agree they look great. I found most professional and video reviews complimentary about the design and comfort of the seats. I only recall 2 reviews which were negative and they were very vocal about it. On the forums, it seems those who have ordered them are happy with them. I only recall 1 older post in which the person regretted getting them.
For me, I decided to order them. I am getting the black with red stitch. You can also get the performance seat with the designo package, at least in the U.S. I have only been in the seats twice. The first time was in a test drive and I found them snug and comfortable, more so than a M3 seat. The second time was on the showroom floor. There they felt snug and a bit tight, but I couldn't adjust them adequately. I have opted to get them because the C450 is meant as my fun car, albeit still practical. My only concern is for the front passenger, especially if it is work related. I would suggest finding a c63 or other amg model with the performance seats to see how much you like them.

I am looking at the TireRack.com site in the US, it is not showing the Sottozero 3 runflats available in 19" diameter.
Also, will the 225 tires fit okay on the 19" rims?
According to TR, 225 tires can be mounted on rims 6.5-8.5" wide. It is at the upper end of the range, but still within mnfg guidelines. I would suggest confirming the information on the specific tire you are looking at.
From what I understand the 225 run flats will fit a width between 7-9 (19" rims are 19 x 7.5 Front and 19 x 8.5 Rear). The Company has 40 orders to review ahead of mine and will guarantee a fit. I told them if they have any doubt about the fit that I will opt for the Sottozero 3 non-run flat tires and go with 3@225/40 R19 and 3@255/35 R19).
Between the dealer screwing-up the registration, certificate of title, and the issue with the winter tires ... I have just about had it.
Viper I sent you a private message a couple of days ago.If you don't chose to respond thats fine.I don't know if you saw it.
That's bizarre... seems like something might be screwed up with my account. I haven't been getting some of the email alerts. Just about all of the updates this morning on this thread, haven't been sent. (I did get the last two).
I just checked my PMs, and it doesn't look like I got one from you (can you resend?)
Dang. Would have liked the 360 camera since the front end of this car seems a bit bigger than my old 328. But I'm sure (hopeful) I will get used to the proportions of the car. My wife's infiniti has the 360 camera and the cooled seats and both are good features.

Bought in Canada from MB Burlington and had good quotes up to 2900 off from various in the area. Spectrum was 2300-2900 give or take across 5-6 dealers.
Bit nervous about the red/silver, but figure I need to step out of my comfort zone!
Now need some winters that fit and are semi affordable. Dealership numbers look to be 4k area.

I was on the Pirelli website and I searched for tires by size using 225/40R19 and I could not find the Sottozero 3. I asked TireRack.com, they said this size is not available for the Sottozero 3.

Just ordered http://www.vrtuned.com/tuning/vr-tuned-tuning-box-installation-mercedes-amg-450/
Should be here mid to late next week. Will track my car early next week and then again after the tune to see if I can notice any improvements. I'm hopeful but if your thinking of purchasing let me be the Guinea pig! Looking forward to it.
What does the Cranberry Nappa leather look like? Is that a Canada/EU only thing? Never seen it before, but interested to see what it looks like! Congrats on the purchase

Could 1010Tires be wrong?
I will let you know if 1010 has a mis-post as the order is in review. I called 1010Tires today to let them know I had a C450 not a C400 since the website does not reflect the new car. Also let them know the OEM tire size is 255/35 R19 with 19 x 8.5 rear rims.
I will let you know when I hear back via phone or email. Maybe Canada receives different Pirelli sizes than US since their is a larger demand.
I called Pirelli US to insure the 19" run flats would fit the rear rims and they gave me an odd answer that the tire would fit a 8.5 - 10 rims ... that makes no sense . I heard that it fits 7-9.

Cajun who is doing your tune? Renntech or Kleeman?
