Congratulations! I'm sure you'll enjoy yours as much as I am mine. Question, though: Does yours have the '4matic' badge on the trunk lid? One of the pics suggests it might be there. Mine doesn't, and none of them I've seen so far have either.

Get your dealers to tell you what the current status of your build is. They should be able to provide a code similar to the following:

Yes, my C450 has the 4Matic badge on the trunk. I think there is a no charge option to de badge your car so maybe yours had that option.

No, we don't have any.

The US order guide also does not show the 4MATIC (so there is no corresponding delete code).

I think the real question to pose is "is anyone outside of the US also missing the 4MATIC" ?

I guess AWD is so important to us here up north, that the 4matic sign is an important marketing tool for Mercedes

Interestingly, if you go to the MB Canada website configurator and the MB Germany website configurator, - all of the pictures of the C450 on the build it page on both sites show the 4Matic emblem on the trunk, whereas the MB USA configurator site pictures do not have the 4Matic on the trunk!

Funny story, I got a GLE350 pre order in the other day and it had a 4matic sticker on it. but it wasn't 4matic . and on another GLE the MSRP said Germany for built factory. guess they got some kinks to work out.

My order is only 5 days old and I'm wondering if I change the ash wood inserts by carbon inserts because I found them more sporty in this model. The probleme is the price diff is more than 700 EUR and I already stretched my budget !!

The orher reason why i want to change is for car celan up: the carbon comes with metal inserts on front and rear doors which are very easy to clean unlike the wood that will be more fragile (I have kids !!)

I have to decide but your opinions will help

Which color seats did you go with again?

I personally like the dark carbon fiber better with the black/red and cranberry, the silver carbon fiber best with any seat that has the light grey (standard or Designo), and I like the Saddle Brown Designo seats best with the Linden wood.

I have black seat with red stitching. There is no dark carbon fiber in the options here. It is either carbon fiber/silver insert or black ash wood insert.

Here in France if you have cranberry interior you will never sell the car...

Bourne, - go with the carbon fiber on transmission tunnel/dash and the silver door inserts for the sporty look it will give your car and easier to clean and less damage than dark ash wood trim. I had the dark ash wood trim on my 2015 C400 and ordered it again on my C450 but I dont have any kids at home anymore and wanted a more luxury look than sporty look for interior.

The only drawback with carbon is the finger prints... but the look seems sportier
The other thing i found out when testing a C450 is that the carbon fiber material looks nice but when you touch it it seems like plastic which I didn't find great.

I'll see with my dealer if I can swap options

Yup, the "dark carbon fiber" I was referring to is the one you are referring to as well...in the US, we also have the option for a light grey carbon fiber.

With the black/red seats (and belts I'm assuming?) I would 100% go for the carbon fiber with silver inserts.

Anyone has the standard seats in alcantara? Are they nice see and feel?
The central,part of these seats is alcantara which is good with the amg steering wheel but the rest of the seats is on fake leather (artico) I have no idea on this one...

I had them on my c350 the only problem with them were they stained easily.

The wood is not fragile. It's really hard to scratch. The carbon fiber picks up finger prints and smudges. It's not a smooth carbon fiber. It's as if there is a plastic or some kind of glossy material on top to protect it hence the reason it picks up fingerprints.

I don't want to say make it like a forum, because it is not. The two main directions I can see it going is this. (1) purely informative, members come to read what's new about the c450 rather it be 3rd party modifications or product announcements (2) interactive website with members posting pictures, sharing DIY installs, reviewing 3rd party mods, reviewing 3rd party vendors, scheduled meet ups etc..
