I gotta say you guys have a really nice car here, the C450 is the perfect C-Class IMO. Looks great inside and out, and power to spare without going for the high-dollar V8 AMG. Stunning car.

Not only high price V8 but also high tax at least here in Europe we pay 6500€ for a high CO2 emission like V8 cars while for C450 it is 3000 or 3600€ depending on wheels.

Your build is excellent choice.
It took me 6 moths too to find a replacement of my A5 V6 and I compared in details XES, Macan S, 340i M Sport, S4 etc...
I think we both made the right choice, may be next move would be XE RS with some more feedback on this new car.
I have question : did you order from MB Belgium? I cannot find the optional carbon spoiler in MB France so I would like to check.
Just checked the Belgian MB config and you have indeed an optional AMG exterior pack including the carbon spoiler for 2000€.
We don't have this in France ... No idea why !
Careful that the AMG steering wheel will not have red stitching as in the configuratorr picture.

So I installed the vivid racing piggy back on my car. Aside from me not plugging a sensor in completely the first time I had not had the system trip my check engine light. I am going to dyno the car on tuesday. I feel like the car is running better than without the tune but the dyno will provide concrete results.

I also think we made the right choice , but for me it was more an emotional decision always wanted a brand new Mercedes. I know the feeling man , constantly doubting.. im glad the thinking is over
Yes I ordered from Mercedes Belgium, the option is called AMG carbon packet 2.
Where are you from, France ?

Im from Paris. I found the spoiler option on the MB Belgium website but it is exclusive to C63 here in MB France. Strange....

I believe you had to get one of the upscale wood trims to get the clock. I have the piano black, and no premium 2 package which is what caused me to think is the reason I didn't get the clock. Time is indicated on the infotainment screen anyway.

Hats off to you man. I am really interested in this. To my knowledge no one has been able to dyno the car. As you recall, I took mine a week and half ago to the shop and the loads of plastic beneath the car make it a pain in the *** to strap down.

By the time the guys got to my car, I didn't have time to let them remove the plastic, strap it in, and then put it back together.

So all in all, just make sure you allow for time for the guys to remove the plastic, and if you could please post pictures of the car underneath once the plastic is removed.

Additionally, please let us know how long it takes the shop to get the under-tray off. Thanks

That is correct. In order to get the clock, one needs to add one of the premium wood finishes.

No parktronic doesn't come with surround view, that's another option. Also parktronic is interesting, it only does parallel parking in the C class and you must interact with the system with your foot on the breaks. Else the car may end up on the curb since it tries to backup very fast. I spoke with the drive engineer and she stated that's the main issue she's seen lately.

Not really sure about either. We did a straight in parking maneuver during a demo of the car. Backed it in and all.

And when I select the option, it says parking assist package "Parktronic with Active Parking Assist" AND "surround view" and it eliminates the option to add the backup camera?

Do you have the car and system or if not, can anyone else confirm?

I was bummed that the car didn't park straight or backwards. Not that I couldn't do all three by myself by if I paid money for the feature, might as well get all three.

And the manual seems to confirm it too

Active Parking Assist will only detect parking
spaces:
Rparallel or at right angles to the direction of
travel
Rthat are parallel to the direction of travel
and at least 59 in (1.5 m) wide
Rthat are parallel to the direction of travel
and at least 39.5 in (1.0 m) longer than your
vehicle
Rthat are at right angles to the direction of
travel and at least 39.5 in (1.0 m) wider
than your vehicle
i Note that Active Parking Assist cannot
measure the length of a parking space if it
is at right angles to the direction of travel.
You will need to judge whether your vehicle
will fit in the parking space.

Did anyone get the performance seats, or was able to try them out? The standard seats seemed really comfortable, but it looks like the only inventory that matches my colors/options has the performance seats as well.

When one has the standard camera view option (not 360) does it beep as well when you have obstacle on the sides of the car and when driving forward? Typically when you have to pass between two cars with limited space this is very useful.

Bonjour

Hmm thats weird indeed, I could choose from 2 carbon exterior packages
Also U said there are no red stitches on the steering wheel, on the configurator it shows with the red stitches, but when delivered it will be without I guess, no problem for me.

Parktronic is the system that employs the little round sensors found on the front and rear bumpers:

Notice the sensor coverage as opposed to a camera view projecting from the side mirrors (as in Surroundview/360 cameras):

Here is a list of the components:

The Surroundview/360 cameras vs. rear view camera is a different question. The Surroundview/360 camera in the rear bumper supersedes the rear view camera (and completely replaces it). I have not determined the difference in the two cameras, but assume that it is related to viewing angle and range (with the Surroundview/360 camera having additional capabilities).

Is there a way to display time on the COMAND screen even with the analog clock in the centre?
