The burmester sound system is very very good. I only played some music from my ipod, and my favourite satellite channel, but I can say it is superior to the Harmon kardon in my old 335i. Forgive me though, I don't know what flac or ogg are

Your 3 rd critic doesn't surprise me at all. It is vey known that COMAND system is the less efficient and smart of the 3 premium German cars. I've been myself used to Audi MMI and don't expect MB to impress me on this area.

For the exhaust sound I'm sure all people on videos were pushing the pedal like crazy while i assume you're being a bit more prudent during the breaking period of your C450.
During my previous test drive I did some kick-downs and found the exhaust great. But this is subjective and depends on what you are used to and expecting.
I too am used to the Audi MMI, as i have a 2013 A6 now that is getting traded in for the c450. however, my wife has the 2014 ML 350 that im used to the interface and drive my dads S550 a lot which has a bit more involved command system. I think they are all fine and not that difficult to get used to.

the s class version is a bit of a pain with the control for the massaging seats as the controls are backwards from what you would be used to on the audi.

My boss recently got a 2015 S550 and when he saw the Command system in my car, he was actually in some ways jealous of how much simpler it was to do things. Even pairing the front temperature control has a dedicated button in the C, whereas it's in a menu on the S. When you think about the audience for the S class, you'd think they might remember it's not the youngest, more tech savvy group of buyers out there.

No offense to any young'uns who drive the S Class!

Update on exhaust mods
Eisenmann Exhaust Systems GmbH is planning to develop an exhaust system for the MB C450AMG too. The expected market release is planned for April 2016.

The AMG Steering Wheel has a nicer set of paddle shifts, they are positioned closer to the grabbing wheel as well as taller so you can hit it more easily even when hands not at 3 and 9. If I knew earlier I'd ordered it.

Fully true. I noticed this from pictures and people here confirmed. It seems also it is a more luxurious paddles material in the AMG wheel. The wheel looks as well thicker and this is what I want given the size of my hands.
I can't wait

Why spent 15-20k more for a car that looks the same exterior-wise (i know the c450 does look quite different than other C's) but to non-enthusiasts or folks who just want an affordable benz and don't care much for speed and sportiness (which is 67%) of mb owners. Theres no reason to go for the c450.

I think the C450 is in a very niche market and those who want one have already custom ordered theres. Very few of us here on the forums have purchased one thats been prebuilt on the lot

I did purchase mine pre-built, right off the lot (of course, it had just arrived there last week). Frankly, I hadn't much considered giving up my CLA45...until I saw the C450 in stock at my dealer. I did know about the 450 (and had read the tests/reviews in car mags) but hadn't really looked into getting one until last Thursday.
There were one or two options I would have liked to have on my C450 (Burmeister), but I sort of fell in love with the one the dealer had in stock. Black, with the black/red leather interior, pano, multimedia, lighting and driver's packages. I've only had it for about 46 hours, but I'm already attached to it.

when i called first time my vendor about a stock C450 he did everything to make me buy a C400...
When he undestood how stubborn I was and passionate about AMG, he stopped bull****ting me...

Indeed it is a very niche market as tmoney mentioned

I think your "average" M-B customer may just not know what the heck a C450 AMG is. My dealer has 30+ C300s in stock, but just one C350 and 2 C450s (one of which is now mine). Real enthusiasts will know what the car is and will come to check them out eventually.
The answer to why someone would pay the extra $$$ for the C450 is the same as why others would pay $$$$$ more for the C63. Personally, after having owned an AMG vehicle (albeit "just" a CLA45), I think the C450 is the perfect balance between the overtly sporty (the C63) and the more luxury oriented C300 and C350. I'm certainly glad I bought the CLA45 when I did, but now I am ready to be "coddled" a little bit while still having the opportunity to "put my foot into it" when desired. Dang, I still have to be at work for 5 more hours before I can drive it again....

thanks autopal. I have no doubt the Burmester is a great system. All I want to know is whether the system can handle looseless audio formats like .flac or others because mp3 is compressed so there is a loss of quality; for such a great sound system it is a pity.
It is also to start preparing my music setlist while waiting painflully for the C450

Ditto.

Big plus for me going with the 450 instead of the C64 is the amg specced 4matic. A perfect blend of performance and safety that is much required since my wife drives the car 1/3 of the time (we each have our dailies and the 450 is our fun car and garage queen)

Our neighbor is actually the Northeast regional AMG QA guy for MBUSA and one morning I saw him spin out on the turn into our street in a C63s on a slight drizzle day and I thought to myself, 4matic is a must especially when my wife is behind the wheel. As for myself, I only drive with the VSA off lol
