COMAND supports MP3 files of the following
types:
fixed and variable bit rates from 32 kbit/s
to 320 kbit/s
sampling rates of 8 kHz to 48 kHz
COMAND supports WMA files of the following
types:
fixed bit rates from 5 kbit/s to 384 kbit/sR
sampling rates of 8 kHz to 48 kHz"
However, it does support both bluetooth streaming (which won't end up lossless obviously) and has an Aux port, so if you have files already in FLAC format and don't want to convert, you can still find ways to play them.
If you are looking for sound quality, the cabin of the C450 isn't a studio or even a Lexus. Exhaust, road, and wind noise will all be present, and as such, the difference between a high bit-rate compressed file and a lossless file is meaningless, but you still have the Aux port if it is important to you.

A0006660228. This is for the previous generation C. From what I can tell, people have been using this part number on the 2015 and 2016 Cs.

320kbps and 48 khz is already not bad.
I know the C450 is not a studio but in my Audi with bang and Olufsen sound system it makes a difference despite wind and wheels noise.
Now to have loose less I can still use a CD.
@brutus I would love to go test in the car but there is no C450 available in any provider here. My order is the first one...

As you seem knowledgable about AMG parts, do you have any idea where we can find the AMG metal badge we can see on C63 W205 above the ashtray cover? This badge is smaller and different from the one usually on the trunck of the car.
