OE's claim was 395 whp and dyno showed 313 whp. That being said, OE's claim for stock whp was 285, while Cajun's dyno showed 264...

There are differences in baseline but the variation is still quite large...

My c450 came with parktronic assisted parking but no distronic plus. It also came with a silly illuminated star.

Is it possible to retrofit distronic plus?

Practicable?

^ You are missing some points.

The first is, OE used a mainline dyno that will read differently than what I believe was a dyno dynamics used by the tuner above.

Secondly, the stock Cajun dyno was 264, with the gain here being ~50 whp over stock... 313 whp.

Thirdly, the torque which I think I saw correctly showed +370 ~wtq which is in fact close to the claims made by OE since I think Cajun's stock car made around 280 wtq.

Fourth, the area under the curve is more important than just peak numbers. The area increased greatly throughout the powerband compared to the piggyback tune.

In summary then, the whp claim was not what was claimed, but for me the wtq very much was. Interesting...

The 450 will drive sportier and will have more agile abilities no question. It will feel quicker to respond and turn.

But once on the highway.. Both cars tuned 400 &450.. It will come down to small difference like type fuel, tire quality, and car with least weight.. It would be that close..

I dynoed my e55 a while back... Power was there from OE tune.

I have not dynoe my E550.. But tires spin like crazy.

Typically OE shows the differenc in output through the power band and not peak power... At times power band delta is huge and as it comes to redline.. Engines starts to pull timing and boost is reduced. So peak HP is low.

As i mentioned before m276 dela was designed for torque and highend pull is not its strong suit. Tiny intake manifold, restricted exhaust and small intercooler will limit power out put compares to the n54 and n55 engines. But powerful enough to compete.

Soon this engine will be the infiniti cars ... MB likely change to inline 6 configuration.

Thanks for the insight topgun. I wonder why we didn't get the peak hp increase claimed since everything I have read about OE is that they are beasts. I agree though the power under the curve makes a huge difference.

Asked my dealer about the status of my build and this was his response...

"Your car is scheduled for production on the 8th of December.. Then five weeks in shipping. We should see the car about 15-25 January.. I will send you the shipping link when the car is on the water, so you can track your car to Long Beach."

I thought our cars were built in Alabama so am I missing something here or maybe the dealer is giving misinformation? Or do they ship cars on the west coast thru Panama Canal?

The reality of all these numbers coming out is just that, they are numbers. What really needs to happen is we need a confident driver to go to the track and run the car bone stock then we need to get the ECU tune via a flash and see what the trap speeds are etc... so yes the number is a good and it's a start thank you very much Cajun but the real test will be at the track... the other option if anyone has a good friend with a car that traps a certain speed perhaps run them on a closed course of course and monitor the difference... say a stock 5 liter Mustang from a dead stop 30 roll 60 roll

At least you have some dates and slots. Here in France it's ridiculous. The dealer doesn't tell me when my car will be produced or delivered knowing that they have to deliver it before January 7th contractually ! I can't even schedule family Xmas holidays and stuck here to wait for news !!
Sometimes I think to cancel my order and buy a recent used car as waiting with no visibility is really the worse situation...

How many of you would like to see a classified ish page on the c450 website where (only individuals) would be able to sale things like old center peices, wheels and things of that nature. And additionally what would you like on that page.

i dont think you can have the illuminated start with distronic. as i believe the star is filled in and not open if that makes sense. the distronic pars are inside the star (i believe). i would doubt that can be a dealer installed item.

when we were in germany sending off my dads s class for euro delivery, there was a guy there sending his off to california as well. they told him his car would go thru the panama canal. where my dads came to the east coast and then trucked to orlando.

i would have thought they would send out all cars from alabama via train or truck to the US dealers maybe not. strange...
