This means the car can do less than 4" with a race prep and removing back seats and stuff like that. It can compete with much lighter Porsches

at the OE Tune in my car. Still writing the review will have dyno numbers sooner then expected hopefully by tomorrow.

Cajon I paused the video several times and the highest HP # I saw was 362.I have seen HP numbers as high as 367 on my C450 and it is not tuned.Is there something I am missing.

 

in my vivid racing review i touched on this. Basically the onboard computers are not actually reading and displaying real time data. Im still waiting on confirmation from an engineer on exactly how they get these numbers but even with the vivid racing tune these numbers actually appeared lower in the car when compared to the stock c450. The same thing is happening here. The true numbers will be available tomorrow when I dyno the car. This was more so you could hear the difference in the tune and to get something out as people have been asking for more info on the OE tune.

 

How do you get that screen with the tach to show up on the command screen?? I've never seen that before in the menus?

Yes, you won't have it without Command, which is part of the multi-media package.

 

Is there any way to get the command unit put in with all its features ? Or is it too late now that the car was built without it?

 

There's always a way if you want to spend big $$. I'm sure it can likely be done, but it will be really expensive. It might less expensive to trade the car in and get one with Command built in.

Motortrend will likely test 12.9 at 110. But not much more. They seem to like to publish faster times. ,imho.

So we are all on the same page.

C400 and 450 with ecu flash will yield the same amount of power to the wheels if dynos same place, same fuel and same tune. Why? Because ecu flash takes the amg perameters off and overwrites with new values. Therefore both cars have the same boost, timing, throttle ect values.


In the other hand.. Piggy back 450 would be faster than 400... Why? Becuase th piggy back only enhances base ecu tune... C450 will have an advantage off the bat.! assume 450 engines have 2lbs boost more.. The 400 engin will be in slight disadvantage.


However if a 400/450 engine gets OE tuning and adds a piggy back at stage 1. Then it would be ultimate set up. This is worth looking into and testing with ideal controlled environment.

One can say the 450 mufflers might help to produce slight more power.. I can see that.

My decision to lease c400 for my wife was ideal for me. She has driven e55 tuned, e550 tune and soon OE tune c400. We are looking forward to the new w213 as the c205 was a temporary lease.

 

110 trap was what I was thinking yes. As far as the other statements are concerned, I have no idea how the vehicles compare. Someone with better knowledge can agree with you or disagree with you. It does make sense with what you are saying, I just can't confirm or counter. Don't you think with the AMG configurations to suspension and transmission, there would be an affect on performance and overall driving dynamics though? From what I've gathered the C450 drives much more like the sports car it was designed to be than the C400...not starting a war just asking.

You've had an OE tune before correct? Any idea how those numbers compared to what was estimated by the company? Popcorn is in hand for Cajun's results tomorrow.

 

Command on the C450 (known as the Multi-Media Package) includes at least the following:

It's a $2230 option. If it's even possible to add it after the fact, you can bet the cost would astronomical.

 

I know those were listed as the difference on the MB site.. But what I don't understand is, I have Garmin instead of command with smaller screen and backup camer..I think I have voice control for the Garmin nav but is it different than the command? I also didn't realize that the command had more options under vehicle settings like the horse power screen display.. What other things does it have that I don't?? Someone said it can play dvd movies but mine can't? There are sub categories under the things you listed that aren't quite clear on the website? Thank you

 

Since you started another thread on this, I just answered that one. The Voice Command is very sophisticated in the Command System. Yes, you can play a DVD, but only if the car is not moving. I could actually care less about that as I have a much better entertainment system at home.

I think you're beating yourself up at this point. You don't have Command and it would likely be way too expensive to have it added after your car is built (if it is even possible to begin with). Just enjoy the car the way you got it and get it on the next one. There's always the next one!

 

Anyone have any information on getting the surround view option installed after the fact? I'm sure it would be very expensive, but I was willing to pay a premium for it when I placed my order. Unfortunately the option wasn't available when I placed my order back in Aug. I'm wondering if its even possible/realistic for this to be added after the car is built....

 

bump for this, anyone know if this is just installed standard and then activated depending on what one chooses to add other than the free five years of connect?

 

I assume it will be exactly as it was when we took delivery recently of a C300 Sport and GLC300. Embrace comes standard for 5 years and you give them a credit card if you want to add the other services (which come free for 3 months). They don't charge your card, but have it on file to take payment if you don't cancel the additional services at the 3 month mark. But they do supposedly give you advance notice a charge will be due unless you change the service.

 

Excuse the noob here, but is there a private for sale thread? Just doing a feeler to see if anyone would want the OEM C450 Tires with 2400 miles on them?

My all seasons go on tomorrow and I don't mind sending the OEM tires off to someone who would put them to good use (sigh Michigan weather).
