C450 AMG Sport discussion only.

Anyone doing the aftermarket installation or setup would probably simply want to reduce any liability exposure and simply not do the work. There would not be sufficient indemnity for them to proceed.
The manufacture might do it, but they as well may have a policy simply not to.
It will be interesting to see if you can get it.

As for the quantum of risk, I've never used anyone but Mercedes so that is moot as to me; however, it is my experience that a skilled broker can place almost any risk.
Please, no more speculation. My local dealer has no such policy, and has retrofitted complex systems for me without indemnity agreements, or naming and waiving agreements.

The segment is between "normal" cars and very sporty ones and i can understand that some people can view the glass as half empty and other as half filled as we say here.
I have been posting messages in many test reviews to encourage people in europe to read reviews overseas as I think you guys have a better understanding of the segment and potential of this car.
This is said I don't think the forum should focus mainly on tunes and mods, as many people will stick to the stock features which offer already a lot.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
So very often reviews are a bit negative when a new non local sporty car is released except for real beasts like Ferrari, Porsche or lomborghinis.
Not true however that cars are less optioned here but tastes are a bit different and I would say a bit more classical (you can't easily sell a red interior or fancy interior trim while it seems bau in the us).
Btw how comes the car has 362hp in U.S. and 367 here in Europe ? Is it a different engine or just a different norm of measure?
This is a picture of the stock dyno vs the OE tune...
Notice you are getting peak +100wtq increase, and roughly +50 whp gains...but when looking at the curve and how power levels matchup throughout the powerband you are getting even more HP throughout the range (in some spots roughly 70 whp increase)...
Again we are only talking numbers...comparing the tune to the numbers tuner cars (Evo/STis) put down on the same dyno shows the car is capable...we will see, a good driver on the track before and after a mod will show the difference. But to give you guys an idea what I am on about, visualize driving your car, and the "get up and go" you feel is at XXXX RPM...analyze the chart keeping in mind you are not only getting more "get up and go" but you are getting it are XXXX-1000 RPMs sooner...Peak stock power is made at what 6000 rpms? That ~260whp is made at 3700 rpms (just getting into the powerband) after the tune...actually very impressive.

Also I have yet to find a good review of someone testing 0-60 with data to back it up. When I find one I will post. I may take the vbox to another users house and get solid numbers.
*still waiting to hear from my dealer about my C450 being shipped on water.
50 awhp considered low to around here, Will make a difference at any track... Period.
That should shave .5 seconds and trap atleast 5 mph higher than stock
50 awhp peak power increase is nothing to be ashame of.. 70 awhp across sections of the power band is great with just a tune.

when we did the tour thru the plant in germany, they said start to finish was 4 days.
very strange on your 6 week delivery. seems too long for alabama, but too short from germany (if you were getting a non us made vehicle). so not sure why they would tell you that. perhaps there is a california emission testing that has to be done.
