Personally I think this is an extremely enticing variant of the new 205 series range.
However beware OP last time a C450 AMG sport thread came up in this sub forum section it went down the toilet very quickly

Yep it's a good place for it. MB is now following BMW & Audi instead of being a leader for the sake of $$$$$. Why take away from the exclusivity of the AMG brand?
I can just hear it already. Hey, what do you drive, Answer; Oh I drive an AMG.

yes, but spend $20-25k less than the C63S and pay $1500 for a tune... not quite the same beast, but $52k isn't exactly a budget car anyways...

Wrong forum. Not trying to be a dick, but this is the W205 C63 forum.

Its honestly nothing special from a regular C class. It definitely doesn't belong in the AMG section. It either should be in the regular W205 section or they should make a sport section for all the sports.

"With the C450 AMG we present the second sporty and emotionally expressive vehicle in our product line. It combines the power of a strong twin-turbo V6 engine with a high level of emotional expressiveness, and avails itself of the technical DNA of the new C63."
You can see all the other things that make it special from the regular C class here, in the Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG 4MATIC press release

Tobias Moers Thinks it's special, he even calls it a C450 AMG, a quote:

It combines the power of a strong twin-turbo V6 engine with a high level of emotional expressiveness, and avails itself of the technical DNA of the new C63. The new sports models represent a convincing proposition for our customers: sports car technology and motor racing fascination become more attainable and in the process appeal to a broader customer base."

What does he say about C63 that is just marketing? All vehicles are marketed, even AMG's. Mercedes is in business to make money, you telling me a CLA 45 AMG is exclusive?

Far more exclusive then any AMG sport will ever be. Plus it's a real AMG with a hand built engine, unlike the "AMG" sport series.

I built a CLA 45 on line, about 61K, recently talked to sales manager at my dealer, he says about 65K for C450 with the options I would want, that makes the C 450 a little more exclusive to me. I know other people have different opinions.

Ya but there will always be more C450s out there due to the fact that the engines aren't hand built. Plus you can easily get a CLA 45 near 70k depending on the options you choose.

I didn't include AMG seats, Pano or distronic pakage in my build, that would put it over 70K

Anyways hopefully they'll make a section of the forum for the AMG sport guys so that everyone can be happy.

I see. Either way you can't really compare the two cars. One a true AMG, ones a tuned C400 with other small goodies. Doesn't mean that it'll be a bad car, and my bet is that it'll probably be amazing, but still.

It will be tolerated here for now unless it turns into another bun fight.

honestly I wasn't sure where to post it because it's a W205 platform, but had AMG in the name...
the guys bring up an interesting idea about an AMG SPORT section - but I feel it would be very 'niche' in effort - at least initially...
I did a search for the C450 AMG SPORT and yes, LOTS of thrash...
I agree it seems like a marketing bump to get more buyers feeling like they have AMG without spending all the cash
as an AMG owner, I'm always amazed at the non-AMG rebadged cars rolling around, wheels, emblems, etc... does it devalue the AMG brand? not really, it's emphasizing the brand because it's well known... poseur or not, they'll be on the road
