I have two questions. Is that part number only for black ash or does it just correspond to the console and you need to specify the material when ordering? the web sites are not overly explicit, they just state part number and price.
Also, were you able to transfer ambient lighting to the new console?
Thanks

Just mentioning it, IF YOU HAVE A CREAKY CENTRE CONSOLE.....
After removing my console to reduce NVH I noticed all the console elements, which are designed to be screwed to the rear of the console face, were misssing their screws !!!!
They were all only clipped in place.. cap QC MB!!! This led to a lot of creaking on the consle IF you pressed or pushed on it..
I used:
Self tapping screws I had to fix this.
Liberally applied silicone spray and plastic grease to plastic clip and plastic to plastic contact points
Foam backed dyna mat over the trans tunel / air vent section
Low density foam to the rear of the coin box..
All in it has made the area a lot more soild sounding, almost no creaks when pressed anywhere and zero noise when being driven turned across a ramp (torsional twisting of the car chassis)..
Mine was black wood from factory which I have no intention of changing.. it was also a good oppurtunity to polish out some of the super fine scratches on the controller and silver trims and coat them..

Hello gsd99mg1,
Part number above is only for black ash, no problems to transfer ambient lightning to new console.

Thanks for all your information. I am finding it difficult to remove the first piece of metal trim that covers the screws that secure the console in place (the piece where the button to open the armrest is located). I am afraid of applying more force and breaking it. Is it just a matter of inserting some flat metal piece (such as a knife) and wedging it up? Or did you need to unscrew or unlock any piece to loosen it first?

Hi Mate. Looks really good, I'm thinking of doing the same. Looks like you left the black air vents instead of buying the silver one. Looks good in the picture, but what do you think of it in the flesh?

Hi,
Would anyone explain how to pry open the first piece of metal trim in order to access the screws which secure the console? It's not so clear in the video and photos. I have tried applying force but it doesn't budge and I'm afraid of breaking it. Is there any lock to undo before prying it open appart from opening the armrest doors?
Thanks

Hey mate...
OK the easiest way i found was to pull slighty on the silver edge of the trim piece.. trying to pry the balck plastic at the join in the stowage box wasn't successful..
My methid was gently pull upwards on the silver plastic part (outer most edge of the section the button is in)..
As the part started to gap i used a plastic spatular to leverage it a little.. i left the plstic spatula under it and did the same on the other side.. at the same time i pushed the button down and pulled on the lip of the silver piece vertically upward..
afte a little wiggling it started to lift and i was able to leverage the back side (in the stowage box area)..
pulling straight up it comes away.....
Hope that helps.. the online videos work if its a loose fit but not if its one of the tight ones..

I'm curious if anyone has any additional tips on removing this first trim piece and the center console. Also, are the video and photos describing the process still available?
Thanks very much!

[QUOTE=amgburbles;7265084]Thank you so much for sharing this. I wasn't able to order it with my car because of low inventory issues. Then I found out how much they were charging to get the clock installed version after my car was delivered. I asked parts department about fitment with the part number you posted and they didn't know anything about it but I went for it anyway. I replaced my center console in my C63 coupe and it was a perfect fit! I'm so grateful I found your post! I only wish it came with the AMG emblem on the lid
[/hi can you confirm what site you bought this ? I’m trying to do the same thing without the clock

its easy just clips and a few screws. Did it a few weeks ago and you will see how it works when you get the consol out and look at the rear. No worries

I have a '17 C300C4 coupe...
I plan on changing my center console to the matte black wood trim...
Is the matte black wood trim avaible without the analog clock?
I wonder if the center console is the same for the sedan & coupe?

Can someone tell me can I install just the center console ambient lighting ? The new ash wood appears to have some light bar all along the bottom so I assume I need the bulb attachment or something
