Painted OEM grill
I decided to paint my OEM grill, gloss black instead of buying a diamond grill,
I am pretty happy with the results.

A local body shop called SMART Automotive in Milton Ontario painted it for me.

these are the after pics, the grill base was silver prior, now its black.
the slats are still chrome

DAMN. That looks good. I never even noticed how little I liked the grille until you posted this. Next mod.

What did they charge? I'm no good at painting, will find a shop - or maybe a wrap?

possibly, the grill was silver, with chrome slats
now it is black with chrome slats

It is a very minimal change, as they say. devils in the details.

I am working closely with the shop so it's a part of our "project" together, I can't imagine it costing a lot to paint the grill, the only real labour is the removal of the bumper which is also a DIY

yes entire bumper comes off.
not as easy as the 204

at the time, the dealer said it was only available in silver.
luckily i have friends at the authorized MB body shop.
