Lane Departure Warning (Vibration?)
OK - topic of interest is: The vibration the lane departure warning gives you. I've driven a CLS and B Class with the same type of system and each time you get the warning it's definitely a very noticeable shudder through the wheel.
On my C, the warning is akin to someone tapping the steering wheel with a pencil - you can hardly feel it.
I've run a test of the system in Xentry and it gave the full intensity buzz, plus all the tests pass, so I'm not sure what's going on is normal, a setting, or a fault. The test vibration is definitely a LOT more intense than what I'm getting under normal conditions.
What are others experiencing in terms of the warning vibration sent through the steering wheel?
If a tech is reading this (e.g. Vic) would you know if there's a setting in Xentry to adjust the force of the warning?

Goes well with Lane Keeping Assist, and if theres a solid line to the right of me, it brakes and pushes the car back into the lane...not good if your driving down Dornoch Tce in Brisbane (a favourite with MAMIL's or cyclists) and the car decides it wants to take out a cyclist, because your trying to make way for them.
But yes, theres a definite rhythmic tap through the steering wheel (its not savage, but noticeable...that's the best way to explain it), you can hear it click in my car as well.

MBWorld Fanatic!
In my experience compare to other mbs the vibrations are very muted. As most everyone else agrees with that, unfortunately it becomes normal by definition.

I'll shoot a vid later and will try to capture what it's like doing the diag test - it is what you normally expect in terms of feedback, so I'm not sure why the mechanism is acting so softly during normal ops on the W205. It's no doubt coded to behave like this.

Here's a vid of the actuation under test. If you've driven other Mercedes cars with same system you'l recognize the triple buzz straight away. You'll have to turn up sound - bit hard to capture the event on video.

Would be nice if you had user adjustable feedback intensity for that thing. Compared to other MB variants there's definitely something different in the way they've coded the implementation.
The M99 motor is actuated via the N80 Steering Column Module (SCM). Mine has software version 13/35 000 . I wonder if there's a software update that changes the behavior?

Barely discernible on my C300 Sport. Complained with the shop foreman and was told that it's normal. This renders the system useless in my opinion. The feedback is signicantly weaker than E350.
