Exhaust on the C450 sounds great as is - love the crackles (or "gunshots") when you hit the 4, 5, 6 on the RPM scale. Guess I just missed out on this new performance exhaust of the C43… ahhh!
I'd go listen to it before you make that assumption.

The opinions on in seem a bit 50/50. I, personally, wouldn't order it.

Thanks Gaia. Guess I'll have to get rid of the children so I can order a coupe!

You may be surprised, but I agree. It doesn't make any diff to me whether my car says "C450" or "C43." The letters AMG shouldn't be associated with either of them in my opinion, though I understand the marketing move by MB.

I will rebadge IF AND ONLY IF the exteriors are completely the same between them. Don't see a prob doing this if the hp, torque, exterior, etc are the same. Definitely will NOT be going out of my way to rebadge/match the C43 (should there be any exterior differences) just to "enhance" this warm-up of a car. For me, the purpose of the C450 is just to get my feet wet. I have a good idea as to what my next vehicle will be.

Although they're both fun to drive (C43, C450), and definitely above your average car, they're not real AMG's. The letters AMG should be attainable by only a select few individuals.

It's only a matter of time before it's time to return this car and hop into something else, so enjoy whatever it is that you're driving and don't stress about badging lol. C450, C43, heck I'm still driving it and enjoying it!

What would you guesstimate the residual to be?

You also said in the previous page that your car is "fully loaded minus the AMG seats, AMG steering wheel, night package"

I guess C43 is REAL AMG minus just the half-AMG engine. It looks like this "REAL AMG" is closer than your "fully loaded" car. Just my 2c.

The C43 Coupe with AMG Performance Exhaust sounds absolutely nothing like the C450. Anyone who says otherwise is deaf, dumb, or delusional (potentially a combination of more than one)

I also believe the lights on the C43 are different and more modern looking than that on the C450. So rebadging is probably not a good idea.

I test drove a sedan & a coupe.

My kids are 24 & 26, both about 5'10" & they fitted comfortably in the back seats of the coupe.

Surprisingly, there appears to be more room in the front seats of the coupe than the sedan & the doors are massive.

If you don't have more than 2 kids, then you might consider going for a test drive in a coupe to see if it fits your family.

The active LEDs are the same appearance for all North American C-class.
I think LED may be standard on the C43 while halogen are still std on the C300.

I'm confused why you posted this...

not even remotely relevant to the conversation. Nowhere was it said that the two sounded the same.

Hey hart remember the day i told u to wait for the c43 and that you will not regret that choice and you thought I was crazy cuz it would have meant you needed to wait another 6 whopping months! You're welcome im sure the C43 is worth the wait. Me personally, if I could do it all over again I would have opted for the E43. I realized the C is a little small for my liking but im stuck with my purchase. Cant wait to pass it down to my sister when she starts driving in 10yrs

haha I've been waiting for this post, tmoney! You were 100% correct, no doubt about that. The extra wait absolutely does suck (ironically on Monday when C43 Coupe ordering opened, my C450 also delivered) but it will definitely be worth it.

Hoping that the 9 Speed will avoid those power lags that drove you nuts; and despite varied opinions on the C43 exhaust noise, I love it (I'm a "all volume, all the time" guy...but I admit it will be nice to be able to close the valves when I just want to chill on a longer drive).

Being able to get the Coupe body style rather than the sedan is just icing on the cake! Being that I am very recently single now, my worry of fitting kids in over the next few years is now null and void (pending any drunken mistakes on my part, of course), so the Coupe will be perfect for me

I was thinking insurance on the C450 would be around $100/month, any idea what I type of increase I should expect to see in the C43 given it's an "AMG"? Technically, neither of them are really AMG's, the C43 is no more an AMG than the C450, so I don't see why there would be an increase...but I don't make the rules.

Insurance for me on the C450 is $170/mo in PA burbs. 100/300 full tort. I would assume it would be about 150/mo in nyc for the c450 as well

Comparing insurance rates in PA to insurance rates in NYC is like comparing Detroit to Italy. People from NY use fake addresses in PA to get cheaper insurance all the time our rates are some of the highest in the nation.

true very hard to compare, sometimes it's the opposite of what you would think. When I got my car, my car was registered in Palm Beach County and my address listed was in a gated community, and my monthly rate was around $200. When I moved to Boston, my rate dropped to $100/month. I have no clue how that makes any sense, but I'll take it.
