As a *new* (2 months) C450 owner, I could care less. It's a solidly performing MB, with all the nice appointments and 4WD, that I drive every day. A good number of my colleagues have C63s, and you see them from May through October here in Pennsylvania. They constantly whine about replacing rubber every 5-6,000 miles (even though they "baby it"...yeah right). The big boy AMG owners whined because it "denigrated the venerable AMG one man, one engine" concept. The wannabes whined because it didn't have a "real AMG" placard on the back.

My opinion is it's very hard to find a reliable 4WD sedan that puts out the kind of performance, drivability, safety and comfort that the C450 does for the low to mid $60K range (yes, mine has nearly everything). As for what the little placard says, I could care less. But something inside me says that in 20-30 years they're going to be very desirable.

To be honest i almost got one, I still think its a great car not just what i ended up with.
Would not want a 4wd C63s even if they made one, it would totally ruin all the fun.
What is important here is that your happy with your car really. And it seems like you are, coming from a E55 AMG i just did not feel like 450 was my car..

Totally agree. Anyone that talks **** about the c450 is because they have not driven it. I had a CLA45 on order, driven it many times. I test drove the c450, and bought it. Better overall vehicle. The interior was better and the performance was surprising and I saved a few $. Very balanced car. I felt the CLA45 had a lot of plastic and cheap interior. I also do not care that it was not built by one person, in fact other than history I really do not see the value in one man one engine. I've had M3's, 911's and my focus was on performance, build quality, and handling in a daily driver. C450 Love it!

I would take a C63s over C450 if AWD is available.

the quality of the C is devinitley worth it. I had a cla loaner this week and I was thinking, hmm, this isnt that bad in here, maybe ill get a cla45 next instead of a C450. Then I got my car back, sat in it, and realized that it is a much nicer car, no scratchy plastics inside the C-class! my pet peeve!

biggest beef i have with cla and gla is that you can see body color metal at door seams and cheap plastic. its almost like a 1990 kia.

Interesting - thanks for posting. So now we see what the badging looks like - hard to tell but the fender emblems says BITURBO 4MATIC. Will the MY17 Sedan get the 9G, I wonder?

Arthrodesis - no change to HP figures though - same engine.

I'm still gonna wager that the sedan version will remain virtually unchanged from the C450. As many have predicted, the only potential change from C450 to C43 might be the addition of 9G and, of course, the badging.

C450, GLS 63 and a few other things
Yes, same horsepower, they are rated a little differently across the pond than how we North Americans do it, but the c450 sedan has the same specs.

Will be interesting if the 9G makes it to the sedan this year or not. I've stated before, I think 9 might be too many gears for a sports(ish) car, but since the 7 gets criticized maybe it is an improvement.

Fixed. I'd like to blame auto-correct, but I suspect it was space author.

Yeah, well, we used to blame Sputnik for every thing....

What's wrong with the 7 speed?

Mine seems great.

I, too, am not worried about missing out on the 9 speed. When it comes to tranny gears, less is more in my books. I take delivery of my C450 first thing Thursday morning. Not regretting it in the least now that I know what the changes are...

I'm glad it's not a big change besides the naming. I guess the questions now are whether or not we get the AMG benefits like driving academy and if the gear shifting times are better than the 7G+

Now it would be interesting if these get passed down to the Sedan as well when get changed to C43.

- 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission with double-declutching function when shifting down and exhilaratingly short response times in "Sport Plus" mode
- AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive with rear-biased torque distribution of 31 to 69 percent (front axle to rear axle)
While it won't be as bad as what C450 did to C400. But sounds like C43 has some interesting improvements over C450.

That is correct. NO real changes until 2018 with the new I6 engine.
