The sound is actually a lot better when playing Spotify than playing through Bluetooth (I have the Burmester system). I actually had to pull down the base quite a lot from my Bluetooth settings when playing through Android Auto.
The system uses the original microphone so I guess the quality is the same, no issues a least using the phone through Android Auto.
But there’s some annoying bugs such as the Screen flickering. Sometimes the whole system freezes, but it restarts if you unplug and connect the phone again. Also experienced a couple of times that Spotify doesn’t start even though everything looks OK.
To be honest, some of the issues might as well be issues with Android Auto and not the box itself, but hard to tell.

Hi, can someone do a DIY for retro fit car play ? What are the correct brand we can purchase, etc, to retro fit a Apple Car play in a 2015 C300 ? It looks like there are many options, I am just not sure which one are quality and reliable product. Also, can we safely revert back to the OEM unit if something goes bad ?

There was a ton of brands... I just picked the one that looked the MOST reputable, but they're all going to be based out of China with mostly Chinese support. As I've said, I went with Sardincar and although I haven't gotten mine to work yet, their support has been pretty good. I can't figure out why mine doesn't work though... I've never touched the car but I did buy it used. I've been tempted to buy some of the ones on Aliexpress but I have a feeling I'll have the same result with significantly worse customer support.

Mercedes really have taken the **** with this.
Good thing is I can easily use my phone wedged into the drinks holder. Still nonsense that they haven't sorted it by the end of 2018 though

You had before a 10" screen right? Which one did you haveh? Can you give us a comparison about what is different had improved/worsened in this version in you opinion?, or what are the pros/cons that you see? It would be awesome to see a video but that's too much to ask.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I'd say it work's OK overall. There is no doubt that it feels a bit "aftermarket", but that’s to be expected. Still, once you've switched to the interface, in my case Android Auto, it works really well. I've tried the Apple Carplay functionality with my wife’s iPhone and it seemed to work just as fine (I’m pretty sure the focus when developing the product is Apple Carplay so probably better than the Android Auto functionality).

as I am planning on getting one of these boxes and u want to use it with Android Auto, I wanted to ask you where did you get it? By sardincar? And can you start Google assistant by pressing a button or you have to scroll up to the mic? What is your current opinion a few months later?
I got a 10.25" display and I am not entirely happy with the implementation and I end up using Android Auto all the time.
Thanks!

See here for a somewhat lengthy discussion about the 9 inch Android screen.
