Hi guys,

I installed a carplay retrofit package from carlinkit manufacture.
Siri is not working ... I mean, instructions to Waze of anything else is working (with oem mic, as it didn't came with a second mic), but there is no way to fire siri.
On the documentation they say we can fire it by the * (star) button of the console, or by a long press on voice command of the car.
Both have no effect.

Do you need all 3 of those codes to be able to enable via OBD? When I check my VIN I have 522 which is "AUDIO 20 RADIO NAVIGATION CAPABLE NTG5". Guessing this means that I have Audio 20?

I do not see 154 or 14U however.

I have 522, 154 and 15U - can I use an ODB update ? Also I vaguely remember that Merc had closed down updates via ODB - is that correct or did I dream it ?

Hi Matt,

According to SSAllen, a few posts up, he said "OBD carplay activator only works if you have 522 and 154 codes in your data card"... so may want to double check with SSAllen, but looks like you may g2g with the OBD.

are you certain it’s NTG5.2?

You have NTG 5 which is not capable for the carplay,
For OEM carplay you have to upgrade to newer NTG5s2,

How is the audio routed to the stock system, via bluetooth? Also, does it sound as good as with the phone plugged in to the original head unit?

I have a 2017 C300 (W205). I ran my VIN through mbdecoder and these two things show:

1, Mercedes-Benz Apps for Audio 20 without Mercedes-Benz Connect
2, Audio 20 CD

So I'm assuming I have an Audio 20 system, correct? This thread is very confusing and I'm a little lost so please forgive me for asking: what are my options? Ideally I'd love to do an OEM retrofit if possible. I know the head unit and parts are probably going to run me a fair amount of money but is it possible? What do I need to know and how do I find a guide, or a parts list, etc.?

Hey guys, I`m considering getting the the box/unit for adding carplay/aa/mirroring for my C43. Can I ask you a few Qs of you guys who have been using it for a while now pls:

- is everything working as it should?
- How is the Siri integration? Is it using the OEM mic or the additional one (how is the call quality with that?)
- does the camera kick in overriding the carplay/AA when you go to reverse?
- how well did it hold over the different iOS updates?
- Is there any support from the sellers giving out updated FWs or?

I think I need to change the headhunt + USB port. can you help me with the correct headhunt part number that will work car?
Also, what is the difference between the 2 knobs? is it something related to the option of the car? My car comes with the (palm rest) or whatever they call it.

Bumping this really old thread. We put a sardincar wireless carplay unit in my wife’s w205 in early 2020. It has worked great until the last month or so when it won’t connect to her phone, but will connect to mine reliably. She hasn’t changed phones or anything like that. Thoughts on troubleshooting?

it s strange that so many years after the launch there s no clear instructions to do so with oem parts from the 2018
cars and onwards.
It seems that you could buy the parts for less than 500usd total and then find someone accross the internet for the programming.
i m looking myself to follow that route

I am sure the Bluetooth is enabled in your phone. Sometimes we disable it and forget to enable it.

Did you try removing the device from the CarPlay unit and adding it back? You can also forget the device in the phone and try adding it back.
