I do not think mine is quite that bad but it does have more rattles than my previous 5 mercs combined.
The seatbelt adjuster rattling next to the ear (both sides) is particularly annoying

That's exactly what it is, first year model and with a new engine at that. In all honesty, yes they could do better. But from what I have seen their new engines often have issues until they get the manufacturing in order.

All in all, take what you read with a grain of salt. Not every car, dealer, tech, customer etc. are the same. But refusing to have your car fixed when it clearly has a problem (and a big problem at that) isn't going to make it better. I know its hard to trust what you can't actually see, but the people that work on these cars, myself included, only want what is best for the car and the customer. I am only saying this because I have seen what happens when customers don't fix their cars and it isn't pretty.
I am not "refusing" to have my car fixed. MB never notified me of this issue or asked me to bring the car in for repair, I happened to stumble upon a thread in this forum which is how I even know about the wrist pin problem. Honestly I did not realize that there is potential for my motor to throw a rod because of this. If that is the case, then shouldn't MB be notifying owners of the affected vehicles to bring them in for repair?

Regardless, my door seals are still going to creak...

All of my doors creak and my steering column. My service tech says it's because of the stiff sport suspension and the run flats. I have the same setup as Stan so it obviously bs. Did anyone make any progress with trips to the dealer?

I recommend developing a very serious weed habit. The car will still suck but you won't care as much.

But seriously you'll get murdered unloading it now. I'm guessing in the $8k neighborhood and that might be optimistic. One option is to wash out the negative equity in a lease on another car. It spreads the pain over 36 months. I'm doing exactly that at the moment, for around $8k actually.

Basically it would add a couple hundred a month to the lease payment, but since the lease payment is less than a purchase payment your monthly car payment would likely stay the same as you're paying now.

Then when the lease is up walk away. Or buy the new car for the residual when the lease ends. Meanwhile you're driving something you like for the same money every month. Is leasing an option? What would you like to get instead?

Oh I forgot to mention, when I took it in for the creaking door seals one of their tactics was to let air out of my tires without telling me, no joke. I got the car back with the tires at 31psi all the way around, lower than what they had when I brought it in and lower than the recommended spec. That oughta fix those door seals! Or not.

Sounds as if they are not using the proper compound to lube the door seals. The proper procedure would be to use Krytox lubricant and apply moderately to all door seals. Then with all doors open let the vehicle sit for 16-24 hours. I rarely see a car come back after that repair and it usually makes the seals a lot quieter.

When I first picked up the W205 last summer I noticed a creak - and mentioned it to the dealer when it was in there for an unrelated issue. When I got it back it was with a comment of 'no creaks observed'.

Then Winter came - and the creak disappeared. Now that the car is back on its Summer tires the creak is also back. No clue where it's coming from - other than somewhere around the dashboard/steering wheelcover.

My 7 year old 325 has exactly zero creaks !

They did use Krytox, I recall seeing that on the service order that they gave me afterward. They did return my car the same day though, rather than letting it sit. Which Krytox do you recommend? I see there are a few different types on Amazon, I'd be willing to give it another shot myself and see if I can fix it permanently.

This is the closest thing to what I use. I usually apply it with my finger a few drops at a time with a glove on. Try to get all outward facing edges covered. If it still creaks after that, it is possible you have a different problem. It could also be the sun roof. I would lube the tracks and all moving parts on that as well with sun roof grease like this.

Those tend to creak quite a bit and can easily be misheard.

This should be so easily engineered especially now in 2016 after all these years of squeaks and rattles in cars. I guess its not a priority of design...

I understand this thread, but I wonder how many owners would say they don't have any undue noises..

Mine just gets worse and worse. I'm taking the car to the dealership this afternoon. 6th or 7th trip, easy.

That's terrible. Mine is German made and only has a couple of creaks. Mostly the central console.

After taking it to the dealership, the service adviser said he got the mechanic to add insulation on the doors and center console. It's a bit better, but I'll need to check tomorrow morning after a larger temperature flux.

Just had all 4 doors Hushmatted as part of a stereo upgrade. No rattles and the doors sound solid when they close.

A few question:
Where were your creaks located?
Did they say how they fixed the creaks?
Where are you located?

Thanks in advance. The creaks and the speaker rattles are the last two things preventing me from loving this car. Any help would be appreciated. My tech keeps telling me it's the sport suspension causing the plastic to creak over bumps.

Soft Winter tyres: no creaks what-so-ever in my S205
Hard(er) Summer tyres: several creaks (from somewhere around the instrument panel)

Creaks were in the driver's side door and window (right hand drive), passenger door immediately behind and around the back window. Very loud when I drove over speed humps.

I didn't ask how they fixed it, was in a hurry.

I'm in Sydney.

That's great and all that they figured out that the suspension and tires they put on their car makes stuff on the inside of their car rattle. They still need to stop the rattles.

What wheel size and tire type are you on?

C300 sport 8/14 build date running 18" amg wheels with Pirelli P7 summer and sottozeros in the winter. No change in rattles with the change in wheels but they are getting better with higher air temps in my area.

Anyone have a quiet buzzing rattle coming from either the sunroof or passenger seat head rest area?
