C450 Wheels and tires stolen
So woke up yesterday morning and found my 2016 C450 on plastic crates! I had the optional 19" black and chrome wheels and the Pirelli pzero summer performance run flats.
My insurance is going to replace my wheels with new ones but just want to know what are the best tires to order? I was thinking of the Michelin Pilot super sports.
What's the largest width I can use on the stock 19" wheels? Feel like the 225 front and 255 rear are a bit narrow.
All your help is greatly appreciated and if you live in Los Angeles get wheel locks as apparently this trend is coming back!

I thought the car alarm was suppose to go off as well but the Alarm didn't go off at all. We have it all on video but they covered their faces.
They broke the door to garage then broke the gate to get a truck in there. Took my neighbors new camaro SS wheels and tires too.
Very sorry to hear this. I am in West LA too and I woke up a few months ago to find my front intelligent LEDs to be stolen. The thieves punched two holes in the hood above the lights, folded it up, and left only the undamaged wiring harnesses. Insurance paid nearly $18k to replace them. LAPD reported that this is happening a lot, but mostly on G Wagons. Really sucks.

Whoa! This is almost unheard of. Are you sure it's not $1.8k? There's no way the headlights alone would cost $18k. You could find a pair of intelligent headlights on Ebay for around $800.

Happened to a friend locally with a different car, by the time they replace the hood and all the associated damage, it adds up fast.
Yes. Not a typo! The repair required a new hood, painting, the sensors for the auto braking system, very many connectors and associated pieces, plus labor.
wow that is ridiculous. i've had people get into my garage before and they will check if your doors are unlocked and steal random items. forgot to lock my car doors a couple times and had things like used chapstick and usb cables stolen.
Wtf! Time to get some wheellocks for sure. I believe I forgot to lockmy miata but i usually do unless they broke in nicely without breaking my glass. But they took my ashtray full of change and threw shiet around and made a mess. Petty theives. They didnt even take my tennis rackets or even dashcam. Dumbahiets.
When I was looking for headlights on Ebay for my headlights upgrade, a lot of them had broken tabs (tabs that are used to secure the headlight housing to the car). I always wondered why they're broken. I mean, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how to remove them, so why are so many headlights with broken tabs. Now that I've seen the pics of cars with hood punctured and pulled upward like that, I understand why. It's just much easier and faster to break off the tabs to get the headlights out.
can confirm. The trend is back! And with sites like eBay and Craigslist it's easy and quick to unload them.
Even with wheel locks someone who wants your wheels will get your wheels go on you tube and watch how fast locks can be removed. It's also good idea to etch your wheels so if found you are able to verify they are off your car. But still recommend locks because it does slow them down.
Happened to me just about 1 year ago. Total cost: $8k
