Winter tires and rims suggestions

Winter tires and rims suggestions
I have a 2016 C300 4Matic Sports with 18" AMG rims and MOE all-season tires. After a couple dumping's of snow in Canada, I think it might be best to invest in some winter tires. Although I haven't gotten stuck yet lol *knock on wood*
I'm planning to get the Michelin X-ice3's from Costco, does anyone have any other suggestions or any cons about these tires?
What size tires and rims should I run? 17" or 18"?
Costco sells steelies for cheap(but very ugly), where's the best/cheap place to buy rims for the winter? I'd rather not get something too expensive since winters are pretty harsh here.
Thanks

I picked up a set of 17in. alloys from a 204 which fitted fine, although to have tyre pressure monitoring I had to fit the correct TPMS valves. As long as the ETs are within a few mm of what you have or the standard 17s for your car, you should be OK.
There are many sites where you can check the suitability of whatever you have in mind.

I'm using my oem rims with Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4's. These are fantastic in the snow with great grip for those icy patches!!!!!

Running Blizzak WS80's on my stock 18s. Blizzaks are widely revered as the best snow tires out for the past forever. But the Michelin will get you by just fine. Definitely a good choice if you can get a good deal on them through Costco.
I'd just put your winter tires on the OEM wheels rather than buying a whole new set of rims. Unless you can put some 15s on there and really drive the cost of the tires down enough to make it worth it but I don't know how small you can go on c300 brakes.

I ended up buying some rims at an independent shop on greater Toronto area and put on some Mid-level winters. Still cost me about $1500 to stock with 18s. I think you'll be able to get a rim and tire set for about $1200-$1300 if you go 17 inch. Rims will be some sort of Chinese knock off Mercedes replica for that price.

My biggest advise I can give out to anyone leasing is to shelf their run-flat tires right away. Put a few thousand miles on them but make sure you can turn the car in with them and the dealer won't say anything. Reason being that their lifespan is garbage along with their ride quality. So when you're at the end of the lease, do you want to look back and realize that you ran the crap RFT's the whole time and have to replace them (costly compared to non RFTs) or would you rather run great performance tires the whole time and then return the car with full-treaded run-flats?
