Door Sill Removal

^Yes, but I believe the 204's weren't prewired for illuminated sills so all that business about pulling the A pillar trim and kick panel and installing a CAN wouldn't apply to the 205, which should be plug and play.
Just gently pry them upward until they disengage.

Well I played with it this afternoon to no avail. I think the best tool that I had for the job was a plastic putty knife for leverage to lift it up. But instead the sill was just bending. Without the putty knife I couldn't get under the sill at all to try to pry up.
I'm always hesitant with this kind of disassembly work when I don't have clear step by step instructions (preferably with pics) because I have broken a couple minor pieces in the past pulling on parts when it wasn't clear how they were attached/should be removed.
Looking at the back of the replacement sills that I want to install, there really isn't any hint as to how they attach (and would be removed). Anyone else have any experience with these?

Double sided tape attaches the sill plate to the car. (Those red strips are the tape with the protective backing still on). The existing sill tape should be in the same locations.
There's a thin fragile wire ribbon on the back side for the illumination.(the white ribbons)
Use fishing line or a very thin plastic scraper to slide under the sill and work it down the length to break the bond of the tape.
Be careful, wire harness will rip easily.

There'll be an access hole under the sill where the power cable connects to a female receptacle. Remember anything with double sided tape you're likely to damage or destroy during removal, and for reinstalling a new piece you'll have only one shot to position the part where you want it.

any idea where this service hole could be, as I did not find it hmmm
or maybe this small rubber circle, but under it I can not see any female connector
btw. installation of new sill is very easy as they have two centre points which need to jump in first

Hi, my car did not have it from beginning, so I bought illuminated Mercedes Benz sill, because on dealers list of allowed upgrades depending on vin I found this option.
