I have a question on which spare to buy. I have C300 4Matic with sport package, have the 19” AMG multispoke wheels that are staggered in set up. I replaced the run flat tires that I had with regular tires. My question is which spare tire to use the A2124004200 - 19” collapsible wheel/tire spare or the A2054000100 - 17” collapsible wheel/tire spare? Thanks for any help.

It’s just the wheel, tire not included.Originally Posted by MBSebas87

Thanks. Yeah I read the post but he had an 18” wheel as his original tire. I’m thinking I should get the 19” vice the 17” because if I do use the 17” then it would be 2” different. Seeing if anyone else had any experience or any additional info.

The stock 18 and stock 19 inch tires both have a front diameter of 26 inches front and 25.8 inches rear. The W205 135/80-17 spare diameter is 25.5 inches.Originally Posted by elibenz2015

What is the diameter of the other spare? You should care about 1) does the caliper clear the spare rim/offset, and 2) is the spare diameter close to 26 inches

MB Canada offers winter alloy wheels/tires only in 18" size for C300 4M with Sport package. 17" alloys will not clear the larger front brakes. Before buying a 19" collapsible spare, you should also check the offsets. Originally Posted by elibenz2015

ExploreI emailed mbusa and this is the reply I got from them: “As the 2015 C300 4Matic does not come manufactured with a spare tire, neither spare would be recommended as they would take the vehicle out of MBUSA specification.” They were very helpful 🤬.

I carry a good portable tire compressor($20~$60), a tire plug kit ($5), a soppy water sprayer($1). If it's just a nail in the thread, you can inflate the tire and drive 30+ miles. Find a tire shop. Or, Drive to a safe place, find the nail, remove the nail, insert a plug, test the plug with soppy water again, done. Front tire is very easy as you can turn the handle. Rear tire could be tricky but I usually remove it. I've done this many times myself. It's easier than replacing with a spare tire. The plug lasted for lifetime of the tire. You don't need to visit a tire shop. This doesn't work for sidewall damages or big holes on thread though.
