Best option to renew live traffic on audio 20
I have just bought a 2015 C200 with satnav and audio 20 so it has the sd card and no command online.
Live traffic has expired as expected given the age and I believe the only way to renew it is to get a new map sd card which will come with another 3 years online traffic.
Is this only available from the dealer or is there a cheaper source?
I am used to running Waze which I like but I would want to install a power cable for the phone which is hidden away. I tried the satnav tonight which worked ok but the instructions were a bit off. Telling me to keep left along a road which was only one lane in each direction for example.
The quality of the map was not that great either. Twice it told me the wrong exit from a roundabout because the map didn’t have the car park or industrial estate exit although it has been there for many years.
i did download the utility and it upgraded the software from version 4 to version 6. Will test to see if that is any better.

You didn't say where you're from, but maps in the US are up to version 11 or 12 I believe. They did transition to a larger capacity SD card around version 8 too.
You have a couple options:
1. Stick with the old maps and call SiriusXM to setup a traffic only account (approx $5/month)
2. Buy a new SD card to get the latest maps. I bought from https://www.ebay.com/usr/dbrandshop?ul_noapp=true for $150. The new card included 6-months of traffic. I have since renewed my SiriusXM package and traffic started working again without any issues.

If you're using the satnav in the car, you'll need to update the maps. I believe Ebay might have them. Search the forum to see how folks have run wires to power fones. As you're used to Waze, this is really your best bet.

Thanks. I read elsewhere that although you can get updated maps off ebay the live traffic feature doesn't work on them. Has anyone tried this or can recommend a good UK seller?

Dealer quoted best part of £500 for a new map and actually suggested I check ebay.
Waze it is then. I have plans to run 12V from the fuse box in the boot to a slimline 3A USB supply. Then hide the supply behind the dash or in the pillar so it is nice and close to the phone so I can use a short USB lead. The problem with running a USB cable direct from the boot is that although fine for a dashcam when charging a mobile it will have quite a bit of resistance so the phone won't charge up as quickly. I have had issues with cheap cables where they cannot even keep the battery from draining when using Waze so a longer cable is likely to be worse.

I was lucky as both the dealer and I thought the audio 20 had 3 years of free updates. After the initial 60 day window to update I would always get a message that I had the latest maps. After a year I had a moan at the dealer who gave me a new SD card in sealed packaging. I was going to use it straight away but hung on to it for a further 2 years until the traffic reports shut down.
I installed the 2017 SD card at the beginning of October and did a software and map upgrade to get the 2018 maps with a different menu layout and did it again this week on day 58 to get the latest 2019 maps with live traffic for another 3 years.
Always surprising how quick the maps go out of date.
