Hey guys, quick question . Can I engine swap a c63 engine on a c300 4matic? Little back story, I have a 2015 c300 with amg package for basically free from my uncle with around 59k miles on it. The warranty is done, but since I got it for almost free I wanted to know if I could put a c63 engine in it. Please don’t tell me just go buy it because I can’t afford that lol, but I do have around 10-12k which I want to invest in the car. I just want to know what would be the step in doing so, how much it would cost me and if it’s possible. I didn’t find any tutorials or anything online so can you led me towards the right direction, maybe steps I need to do. Things I would need to buy? Links to them? But yeah, I found an engine which I could order right now and the thing is, according to the “Fit” section of that site, supposedly you could fit that on a w205 2015 c300.
Is that true? Here is the link, please let me know.

But yeah, please let me know if it’s possible; all the steps and possibly link to buy them? I tried looking for guide or a thread but all those thread are dead and there is no real answer. Maybe this thread could help other.
Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

I can appreciate the ambition and big goals! I unfortunately, don’t think it can be done for $10-12k. Let’s say that engine is legit for $6k, you’d still need all the accessories with the long block (turbos, etc), exhaust (custom or stock AMG $$), transmission, not sure if your axles would handle the power, you’d need to program the car to the new engine/transmission and probably code a lot of other things. Not sure if the radiator and cooling system from the C300 would work or if you’d need new. You’d need engine mounts. The list goes on. Even if you did ALL of the work yourself, I don’t think it could be done for $10-12k. You honestly might be better off selling the car and buying a C400/C450 for $25-30k if you want to go faster. Good luck!

Ah Yes, Pandora's Box. Who amongst us hasn't had that in our lap before.
I only see 3 options here...
1) Keep it as it is and enjoy what you've already got.
2) Sell the car. Use that money plus the 10-12K you already have on hand as a downpayment for a C63. If you cant afford the monthly Ins and car note then you shouldn't be driving a C63.
3) Open the Box.
Should you choose option 3 please let us know if you hear a cash register sound as you open the lid.

For the sake of inquiring minds I hope you do; for your sake I hope you don't...

Your can't drop the M178 into a C300 without major mods. 4 matic complicates it even further since the M178 is not compatible with the regular W205 4matic transfer case. You would either need to source a 4 matic+ tranny from a wrecked GLC63 or an E63 and pray that you can figure out the software controllers. Either that or tear out the 4 matic and source a new tranny and LSD from a wrecked C63. This would be a lot more likely to succeed than cobbling together a shade tree 4 matic+ system. You would also need new motor mounts, front suspension components (the v8 is a lot heavier than the stock motor), fuel delivery system, turbos, ECU, ........on and on.
Even if you were capable of performing all this work yourself you'd be looking at many weeks of downtime and a finished vehicle that would be pretty far from reliable or safe.
Just drop a JB4 and a good set of tires on the C300 and have some fun with it. It's not a C63 but it can be a lot of fun if you make the right mods.

BTW, you're not going to "invest" in this car. You're going to spend money on it. This is money that you will never get a positive return on hence it ain't no investment. It's best to reconcile this upfront so that you have no delusions about what the car is worth when it comes time to sell it. Your mods will be worth absolutely zero $ to any future buyers. In fact, most mods are a negative for buyers because they often don't want to deal with someone else's project.
Not trying to bust your *****, just offering a reality check.

Okay, as a person who has done such a job at a shop. I turned my Merkur XR4Ti into a full RS Cosworth by importing the engine. Now let me tell you what I have learned since then. Back then, you could swap engines as it has been done only on older Benz and if you have the money, Benz would even do it for you just like Brabus.
Now, let me share my knowledge with the current modern cars.
1. The C63 Engine would fit in your C300 however you'd have to remove the full front end since the C63 is inches longer in the front to house the cooling system. You will need the ECU for that engine and the matching TCU with a matching year of your current car.
2. The main reason you will need matching computers is that modern cars are built to not be stolen and drop in however Xentry can do magic to bypass all this but most shops will not have it.
3. Your car is weak in the front and rear unlike the C450/C43 which have complete C63 AMG suspension parts. I already know that the rear of your car does not fit any of the AMG models so you'd have to have parts specially made to beef up your suspension parts our install a full C63 rear end, weild-in.
4. You'd have to give up the 4Matic since only the newest C63 has 4Matic and the E Class 4Matic+ has way to many modules which will cost.
Now the bad news, if you did this and Brabus helped you, you are looking at $80,000USD to upgrade a standard car to Super Beast.

2017 C43 AMG line
Yes, 100% it will fit. The harness is a bit different depending on what options you have.
