Sorry, I only use the OEM Bluetooth and :

1. A Hi Res Music Player + Tidal or
2. Android Phone + Tidal for music.

I take calls directly on the phone on speaker or OEM Bluetooth.

After you plug in a USB flash drive, you should see a flash drive icon appear on the default video/music player. Click that and do a scan.

You can also change the default video/music player in settings.

"The OEM screen seems off. The bottom part is not showing like the resolution is wrong"

Go to factory settings and change thatoption to fix your original OEM screen size and car.

Be careful. The firmware has to match your screen exactly or you can brick it. look at the screen software info to know.

Also, Android is a Linux based OS, so I don't know what you mean by Linux screens.

i was going to buy a linux based OS screen since they are way cheaper and was going to load new firmware and turn it into android OS. Sounds like a dangerous path i shouldn't take. Also the one I was gonna buy don't use snapdragon soc. So im sol.

So that was solved. Turns out you need to use the USB endpoints that came with the screen and not the original ones that are in your armrest compartment

Yeah It did fix it, however, the quality of the back camera suffered a bit since I guess the resolution of the half screen is not exactly the same as the OEM screen but for now I don't think its that big of a deal

To be honest with you I kind of regret buying this. The only thing this is good for is the access to newest navigation.

Very frequently my USB flash drive that I use for music just randomly stops working and continues after 2-3 minutes. Tried with multiple flash drives and still the same.
Sometimes when I start the car it takes the screen 2-3 minutes to start playing the music from the flash drive. I can see the song on the screen but the sound takes a lot of time till it starts.
The anti-glare on the screen is absolutely awful. On sunny days, I can hardly see anything on the screen from the driver's POV.
The heat that comes from this thing is a lot.
It most definitely drains a bit from the battery because sometimes I noticed that I turned off the car for a couple of hours, come back and once i put the key in the car the screen immediately starts without any loading.
and more

There is now a 1.6.5 update for my M785 screen. It's not yet available in the software updater in screen Settings. (Settings > System Info (scroll to the bottom) > Check for System Updates)

Info:
https://kamilbrk.github.io/headunits/updates/ksw/

You can download it here: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1832178 (if you want too)

I have burmester with command too (NTG5.5) older version of this screen with Snapdragon 622, Android 13. Is fast enough but the audio is horrible for the burmester.
Working but not ideal solution was for me CarPlay via screen audio via car Bluetooth but boring to change it still.
now I bought wireless adapter so CarPlay is wireless via original car system ( CarPlay) audio is again great how can be with mb burmester 🫩.
but lost touchscreen functionality of course.

so how look this new version any progress with the sound?

Thank you

Yes, very happy with it. The current software has a few minor issues, but it works great overall.

This has wireless/wired Carplay and Android Auto. I just use OEM Bluetooth + Shanling M6 Ultra (or phone) + Tidal for music.

I also removed the OEM amplifier and added a NAV TV Zen-M + Audiotec Fischer HELIX V TWELVE DSP. Sounds Great.

Is it sleeping properly now? When are you gonna get the cluster? This screen should be able to mirror on to the cluster.
