I have a 2015 C300 with the Burmester Audio system. There appear to be many footwell woofer upgrades available - Aliexpress, Focal, Match Up, Morel, Diamond Audio, My question is for those who have installed these, is it worth it, and is there a noticeable sound improvement?
Another question for these footwell speakers - is there a straightforward way to run a small subwoofer amp to these footwell speakers using the stock high level speaker outputs as the amp input signal, and then driving the woofers with the amplified output?

I am looking at doing a small upgrade to an E class and was thinking of Match DSP amp with the footwell speakers to start. But I'm unsure if it will make a big enough difference or not.

I have the base audio 20 system and I have installed aliexpress speakers, tweeters, and footwell subs. I have not uprgrade the amp. I would almost say that the change in the bass from stock is wowing. The bass is very much feelable in the body rather than stock I would say the new hardware with the stock amp would for sure make a difference. As for your 2nd question I don't know. Hence why I haven't upgraded my amplifier. 2019 c300 4-matic.

benzdude - I see from your other posts, you also installed a DSP amp. For Burmester systems, does the DSP amp replace the factory amp, and the wiring harness for the DSP is complete plug and play without needing to run separate power/ground wires?Originally Posted by benzdude

I use the Nav-TV Zen-M (MOST 150) to feed the V Twelve DSP amp via TOSLINK input. There are also similar DA-G2 devices from Mobridge that do the same. They have 3 types.
The new adapter harness is from Audiotec fisher and feeds the speakers from the DSP. That way you don't need to cut wires. You can also make your own harness.
Main (fused) power cable needs to be run from battery to the trunk to feed all devices.

Looking at the Audiotec Fisher website, they indicate: The 9-channel UPGRADE cable harness PP-MB 1.9BUR enables an easy connection of a MATCH UP 10DSP amplifier with integrated Extension Card MEC ANALOG IN to selected Mercedes vehicles with factory installed Burmester sound systems – model year > 2014 and 9-channel Burmester sound system (13 speakers).Originally Posted by benzdude

Do you know if all this is needed as a plug and play option? It sounds like you utilized additional pieces in your system.

You need:
- A DSP AMP
- A harness from Amp to Speakers
- A MOST 150 Module to flatten the signal and provide toslink output to Amp
My Match harness didn't have any connectors on it, just bare wires.
Search the forum, it's all there.
