My dealer in Bellevue, WA said mid May for mine. Stated it was because the changes required new emissions testing. Not sure how accurate it is or if they just keep putting the carrot out a little further! Time will tell…

hi

just saw my dealer today (he’s the general sales manager of the dealership) and he said sometime in May.

I was able to get the final MSRP and build sheet for mine, apparently its being held back since it’s missing some codes but they are not anything with parts or options, the factory just hasn’t revealed what they are. Ive listed below the factory codes mine is missing, if anyone knows, I’d appreciate some help.

You might try contacting MBUSA to see if they can translate these codes for you. You can find them at www.mbusa.com. I don't know if the new W206 build configurator will have those codes or not. You might need to send MBUSA a separate email.

Hi all,
If I'm in the wrong place, please let me know.

I have been waiting for C300W 2022 since January. Dealer kept saying it has been delayed. The last update is that the car is at the Long Beach port and will arrive anytime soon. But I really need a new car asap. Is there a way I can track the shipment? I have both VIN and PO#.

Thank you everyone in advance.

For what it’s worth, MBUSA is in the middle of press drives, with the official embargo lifting May 16. What this means is all of the reviews, videos, and other content can be released in the US on this date. I suspect the May 16 date is also tied to official “on sale” date and when vehicles will start shipping from the VPCs.

My car is also sitting the Long Beach VPC. Looking forward to its arrival but also savoring my last few weeks with my W205.

Hi Grant Hummel,
Thanks for the info. That gives me a good sense of what my next step should be. I think I should go with other classes like CLA or A which is not the best but oh well...
The dealership is not too far form Long Beach so I'm pondering if it would worth the wait. My situation is that I can't wait more than a week from now.
The dealer doesn't seem to be transparent with me so far I even put down a deposit but thinking of refund at this moment..

You might try contacting MBUSA but I think your dealer is likely the best source for information on your specific car. You're very lucky only waiting since January as many have and are waiting much longer than 3 months thanks to the chip shortage which continues to cause major delays.

Interesting, thanks for the information, may I also ask where did you find the part that mentions the embargo lifting on May 16?

Congrats on your new vehicle, looking forward to seeing pictures of it once it arrives. Any particular reason why you want to get rid of the facelift W205 C 43? Will you miss the C 43 going back to a regular W206 because you couldn't order a W206 C 43 at the time (I believe?) as it wasn't announced or released yet? From your public profile picture it looks like it is in a special colour too the emerald green, will you miss that colour if you were to get rid of it?

I see. Are you waiting on C as well?
I'll reach out to MBUSA. Thank you!

The dealers are doing the best that they can. The ongoing chip shortage is what's been causing the delay and it won't be getting any better any time soon. Few MB dealers have much of anything in stock and on the lot for sale right now because of the chip shortage.

I own the originator of the C class line,, a 190E that I have no plans to get rid of. I'm just trying to help you out. The entire auto industry is dealing with the computer chip shortage and it's a real nightmare scenario. That's why information is so hard to come by because no one really knows.

I’m in the same situation. I’ve been waiting since October 2021. I communicated with my dealership a few days ago and they let me know MB is purposely holding them back and has nothing to do with parts shortages.

Personally I find it ridiculous that they have made customers wait this long, especially early orders because they just don’t fell like releasing it. Mine was built in October and it’s upsetting to think the car has been sitting on a lot for almost a year. I also don’t see logic in releasing a 2022 mid year since my original delivery date was scheduled for December 2021.

I learned about the embargo from two separate members of the US media who have already road tested and spent a few days behind the wheel of the W206.

My trade cycle is every two years, and this time it was thrown by the delayed market launch. This is my 3rd W205, and while they're great cars, I'm ready for the "new" While I appreciate the power of the C43, I'm looking forward to something softer and more elegant. We'll see how much I miss the power, but if I find that to be the case, two years will come soon enough.

Regarding Emerald Green--love it in the sun, and love it when it's clean. It's really a stunning color, but I find my OCD is too triggered by dark colors, so this go around it will be Polar White. I was planning on ordering either Cirrus Silver or Selenite Gray, but the inability to order Burmester sound forced me into a really nice dealer stock spec that is loaded to the gills.

I see, thanks for your reply, again thanks for sharing the information.

I believe the only thing (well at least imo) going from a C 43 to a C 300 that will be missed is the sound but you will miss the sound too even if you were to get a W206 C 43 anyways. You might not lose that much power (well at least how it is felt) thanks to the EQ boost the W206 C 300 will have so I think you will do just fine.

Gotcha, seems like you won't be missing anything then going from W205 to W206, looking forward to seeing images of your car when it arrives.

That's really good information on the media embargo.
I have a W206 on order with a build date of late July. The dealer is indicating it'll be a 2023 build. It's a 4Matic with the upgrades I want, except for the Burmester sound, can't be added. The dealer said they would continue to try to add it before the build config is locked.
I looked at several incoming dealer builds but none have the driving assistance package, does your?
Thanks!

Hey I also have a build for July and my dealer recently told it will be changed to a 2023 as well. I ordered a build earlier for a May delivery date which I deeply regretted since it didn't have the Burmester option. I made a second order later in February and they were able to add the option to my car for a July delivery date.

When did you order yours btw?

I ordered in mid-April.
I was planning to buy an incoming dealer config but decided to change to a custom order. That and was stalling with cross-shopping other options.

In 2021 or this year? I was also thinking of finding a dealer config but none had Burmester with the AMG line package with it. I was also kinda of looking around at other cars and my second choice would probably be the g70 3.3t rwd.

I had a quick question about the equipment we can expect. Do all new USA 206s have navigation, just not augmented reality? or do they not come with navigation until pinnacle trim or optioned in? Thanks. I also was told June or July.
