Vibrations in Drive when completely stop, is it normal?

The vibration on the steering wheel is very very noticeable especially when car is just started after rpm drops into normal operating range and put into Drive but holding onto the brakes and car is not moving. The steering wheel just vibrates from the engine. When I shift to Neutral or Park the vibration is completely gone. I know some the old honda's does that. Even our nissan sentra or the clk500 does not do that. There are no vibrations like that when I shift to Drive at all. And I only have 1900 miles on the c300. The nissan and clk500 both have 100k miles, they don't vibrate at all on the steering wheel when shift to Drive at a complete stop holding the brakes. It's just feels very unrefined for a mercedes to vibrate like that. I can even feel it on the center console. It's just feels and sounds rough and not as smooth as the other engines. I am not sure if that's normal for the c300.

Although the four cylinder does vibrate a little, it still doesn't sound normal, unless it is a cold start. It is also way too early for transmission mounts and motor mounts on this car.

Look on the official TSBs if you see any acknowledgement of the issue by Mercedes

The vibration does get a bit better after the engine is warm up. It's a small vibration from the engine to the steering wheel and can even be felt on the center console if you put your hand there. Cold starts make it even worse. maybe some people will not notice it and think it's normal. With less than 2000 miles it's hard to imagine something is wrong with it. maybe the 4 cylinders are like this.

I see. I mean you could always take it in, I do expect the M254 four cylinder to be smoother than previous MB's M264 and M274 four cylinders so the vibrations should be at minimal, that said, cold start it is indeed supposed to vibrate only after RPMs settle down in 30-45 seconds it should go back to normal.

I have Jan 2023 purchased C300 W206 and do not have vibration in the steering column at any RPMs. Id suggest to film it and take it in. Make sure you have good gas too.

The vibration on the steering wheel can only be felt and you can’t see it. And only noticeable when completely stopped with gear in Drive say like at a stop light. When driving there are no vibrations at any speeds. It’s pretty minimal when car is fully warm up. But worse when car just started and rpm dropped down to normal maybe because car is not fully warm up.

In the same situation, and the engine is also particularly loud with ticking injector noise when in gear, brought it in 2 times and of course, dealer says its normal. My old w204 is somehow quieter than 206, even my work chevy malibu is better lol.

Yeah the ticking noise is loud as well, we notice the same thing. I think it's normal to the c class. I use to own a 2000 Mercedes c230 and that thing was noisy but there was no steering vibration at all at the stop light as I remember. The other day I drove my 2019 Nissan Sentra with 100k miles and zero vibration on the steering wheel at a stop light. The Mercedes 4 cylinders are very noisy. I know the 6 cylinders and 8 cylinders are much quieter and no ticking noise. Maybe that's how the 4 cylinders are, noisy ticking sounds and some vibrations on the steering wheel at a stop light. It does seem normal to me how the engine sounds and how the vibration feels. It's just that most car's are a lot better at damping the steering vibrations and noise.
