The truth of it is find a company that you trust. I trusted Renntech because with a 100k car and recent motor that was not proven I wanted to go to someone that stands behind their product.

This is not to say that other vendors will not do the same, just some companies are fly by night and would hate to hear some horror stories down the road with people trying to up the boost to build a name.

Just my .02c

But that's not half the cost like you stated. I was expecting something different I guess.

Not literally half the cost but you pay $1350 less for more horsepower. $3500 RT $2150 Kleemann

Thanks, blackbenzz - that's interesting. If Kleemann is half the cost of Renntech, then it's probably equivalent to, if not slightly cheaper than, Vtech as well.

For the past several years, Kleemann's been by far the best value going of the long-standing AMG tuners, but they usually (intentionally) had a slightly more conservative tuning philosophy, with lower output figures to match.

Hopefully we'll see a Kleemann-tuned M157 at the track sometime soon, to offer some additional data points.

Hoping to see some track numbers and customer reports from the Kleemann tune.

Dear sir,
I do understand and appreciate your concern. It's important for you and everyone here to know that while V-Tech Tuning-USA is a new member here, V-Tech Tuning is by far a newcomer to the auto tuning arena.

V-Tech has been in the business of tuning cars since 1997 where we specialize in the Euro car market. We even tune large diesel trucks, farm tractors, outboard motors and even personal watercraft. If you're interested, I have attached an impressive listing of the different vehicles and equipment we are capable of tuning.

Rest assured, our tune for the CLS63TT cars is extremely well written. It rivals the power output offered by other tuners for this platform and is still a very safe tune and more importantly it's priced reasonably. You get what you pay for with our tune and can have peace of mind knowing that your expensive automobile has been tuned by one of the best in the industry. Guaranteed!

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me directly.

Kindest regards,

Misinformation is powerful. People swallow it without even checking.

I think the Renntech CLS63TT tune makes closer to 715rwhp.

Surely you posted that as a joke thinking nobody would check?

Renntech advertises 669 HP and 734 TQ at the crank

Surely. But it's worked on almost every other related post in this thread, so I thought I'd give it a try. Next time I'm going to claim another tuner's products in my signature so I'll be taken seriously.

Someone literally posted that the Kleemann tune costs half as much as the Renntech tune, and within minutes 2 people took it as fact. It even had me for a minute, but then he posted the link to it being 1/2 EUR to USD which does not compute.

But as you previously posted, and I recently quoted, you can't take every dyno claim all too seriously. Especially when I don't see a baseline run to see where they started from. I've had factory freaks before, and nobody could explain why I made more HP/TQ, and when tuned it was further evident.

Yes, I am aware of the method that may be used to put an idea in people's heads but CYA by using 'if', 'some say' or 'i think'. You may not have done so intentionally. But you got lumped in with the other rhetorical fallacies I've seen on the forum. Fox News does it the best, though, to give credit where it's due.

First of all I am sorry about your hearing problem.

You might have the ability to tweak and customise tunes on the dyno. Heck a dyno operator could do this. I myself with proper training could do it. Please dont come and say the tune files are produced in-house by you.

A while back you were getting your files from Oliver @ Evotech.

Now you mentioned you work with two software engineers. mind if you tell us who they are?

You might be able to tweak, change variable and customise tunes. However, the tune files are not hacked by you.

*Admins: I'm not slamming this vendor, just want some facts to be cleared for potential customers.

Lots of interesting stuff going on in this thread.

Ready2Roll your runs are impressive on street tires.

The three runs you posted all were 1.8 60 foot times. Two 1.83s and a 1.84. Same as some of our runs on drag radials. Track prep must have been good.

I would suspect that you must have had a run or two where you spun the tires, had a worse short (60 foot) time and ran in the mid to high 11s. Maybe I am wrong. Nobody likes posting runs of them spinning and running ****ty times.

The 126 mph trap establishes that your car is making good power. And the 1.83 short time shows that you are putting it to the ground. Hartmut just ran a 10.92 @ over 131 mph in his CLS this past weekend in + 1200 DA on a 1.8 60 foot with exhaust mods. So there is more power to come. I didn't get a chance to drive it this weekend. I believe my best best 60 foot to date with the Renntech CLS is 1.7. No 1.6s yet. As such, I think 10.60s are in reach.

That being said on the night you ran your 11.3 at No Problem Drag Strip it was in the 40s with a DA of nearly negative -1000 foot.

So to compare apples to apples (or pick the fruit of your choice), the conditions would have to be the same. The runs with the Renntech CLS are generally in a postive DA of +1000 to 1500. The RT CLS has run in the 11.2 and 11.3 with a 1.8 60 foot (like yours) but in + 1500 DA. In sum, drag radial or not, the 60 foots are the same (1.8). So, in tune only form the cars would run similar times in similar conditions. Your car did have the benefit of 40 degree weather, lighter ceramic brakes, better DA by about 2000 feet, and an LSD.

So hats off to you for a good running car.

Thanks very much!
Yes track prep is normally very good at No Problem Raceway. I also did a real good burn out as you can see in the vids. Probably overkill for the OE tires, but hey it worked for me that night.

I was launching right off idle. If I tried to launch at any higher of an RPM I would blow the tires loose. I know I could improve the times greatly if I had drag radials and was really able to launch the car hard.

And you are right, it was cold that night which was a great benefit to me.

Thanks for the props!

You're very welcome.

I know what it takes to get these cars to hook on street tires.

You deserve the props.

Job well done.
