M157 V8TT | Spark Plug Replacement Poll**
Hello fellow forums members,
Just wanted to take a head count of all the forum members who have been experiencing spark plug issues.
All M157 owners please chime in. If you haven't replaced your plugs still post a reply so we can paint a better picture as of why this issue is recurring for some of us.
1. none performance package, performance package, or tuned
2. at what mileage and under what condition did you changed the plugs if at all
3. how many times you've changed them
4. total mileage on vehicle
5. driving style
6. fuel type you're using

2012 MB CLS63, 2012 Le Man Red SLS
No spark plugs replacement for me. Checked with the dealer when I took my car for other minor issues. They checked my VIN and ran my car through the STAR diagnostic and no error came up.
My car is 2012 CLS63 with 6700 miles (it has the older Navigation system) and it has the PP package. Took my car to the track a few times. No mods.

Driving style - hard - 1 through 3 gear city/3 through 5th highway...
6500 total miles
Plugs went out at about 3500 miles coming off freeway. CEL came on and cylinder shut down(I have been told...
). Brought to dealer and fixed under warrentee.91 Oct

never had a problem when i had manufactor plugs ( even when tuned )
after dealer replaced my plugs ( major service ), one broke while WOT, new plugs had less than 6000km on them.
i am thinking propably the plugs that they installed were old stock and have some quality issue.
1. performance package and tuned
2. 30k km, major service as dealer says in GCC.
3. once
4. 39k km
5. the worst in history, LOL lots of > 300km for more than 10 min, daily WOTs
6. 93US, 98 UAE.

As people mod the TT cars the added boost subjects the spark plugs to added stresses.
Look to the EVO and Subaru tuners to see what type of spark plugs they use when the boost gets turned up...

ive experienced this issue once at 2000 miles and again it put me on the side of the road at 6000 miles, car is tuned during both issues, i drive my car like its stolen, changed the plugs and its stronger than ever!

2. around 3500-4500 miles cant remember; misfiring after driving hard at 110 freeway (pasadena freeway)

Hyper aggressive- always on it in the city and high speed pushes on the mexican toll roads.

Crappy Cali Noventa y Uno
PP on two M157's--- wagon and CLS- both tuned with the same shelf tune via OE.

Hard. It's made about 40 passes down the dragstrip too.
