now I drove the new C63 BS the other day and WTF is that all about- great sound out of the box!!!!!!!
seems like the cls wasn't handling AS well for the driver as the M5..
and the time difference wasn't that huge...
really liked seeing the cls in action though..
they were probably just talking about girls and telling jokes..

the driver looked pretty relaxed

It was awesome--- love the NA response and the sound of the car was glorious in nature. The KW Coil Overs are excellent yet reasonable on the street. I really enjoyed the car, looks, and driveability.
Is not as fast as our tuned cars but faster is not always better and in this case, the C-BS is proof in the pudding. Yes its a C class but its one hell of a C class.

c&d, motortrend or road and track just did a comparo between the cts and a manual m5.. they declared the caddy much more fun and communicative but the M5 bested it on the track by a second or more and won the test by being much more polarizing
To sum up what he said:
- Impressed by the handling in the BMW but couldn't get a perfect lap as the grip was "unusual"..
- M5 much better in the drifting department where the CLS was a bit edgy on the exit
- M5 had a 10km/h higher top speed at the end of the straight (6mph)
- CSL had both stiffer springs (said when drifting) and better riding comfort (said during the lap)
- CSL had better steering feel, first Merc he had driven where the steering impressed him
- Takes forever to change gear in the Merc and doesn't change down when he wants it to
- Combine the Merc steering and the M5's balance and gearbox and you'd have a perfect car.

And it's a very long lap so there's plenty of time to regain the gap.
didnt you see? this WASN'T a PP!
it said 5.5 l v8 525 hk at 4:08 in the video. (assuming this is the hp) this was the non pp cls
i saw one other race where the cls beat the m5. but i think there are 3 or 4 where the m5 beat the cls.
