HMS Sound Switch Exhausts For Your CLS63 W218 - Imported by Velos Designwerks

I've been in the aftermarket industry for well over 7 years now and one of the things I noticed about CLS63 was that the exhaust system wasn't very desirable especially after you've upgraded the downpipes. That's probably due to pushing more air flow through it than it was originally designed for. It's also very loud all the time and it can't be changed until HMS developed their CLS 63 W218 flap controlled system that comes with a switch you can mount internally to open and close the flaps at anytime.

Here are some fun facts about HMS.

1. Every exhaust is hand made to order in HMS's tuning facility in Germany.
2. They are well known around the world already so you will receive a build start week once you've placed your order. The exhaust will be completed 5 days later and shipped on the 6th business day.
3. All systems once shipped will arrive from Germany 3-5 business days.
4. Lifetime warranty on all systems.

Enjoy the below and let me know if you have any other questions.

I like the flap feature but I do not want to change my stock tips? Any advice?
I assume there is a remote for the flap on/off feature. correct?

I think we can have HMS produce the exhaust to accept the factory exhaust tips if your interested in placing an order. HMS offers a switch for cars that aren't pre-wired with one from the factory.

Can they retrofit that flap feature on my OEM exhaust? I am not inclined on buying a new cat back exhaust.
I am not sure I understand your comment about the "cars that aren't pre-wired" from the factory. I am not aware of any OEM set up that has a button like the new Jag F type.
Please enlighten me.
Thanks

To answer your first question, no HMS cannot retrofit your stock exhaust. I've heard of companies doing this (speedART) used to do it for Porsche Cayenne's back in the day but they had to do the work in Germany either to your exhaust or ordering a new exhaust from their local dealer and sending it here. Not very cost effective and extremely loud and distasteful usually.

As for the Pre Wired comment. It's not common practice but there are a lot of cars on the road today that have pre-installed sound switches. Porsche offer's it on almost every vehicle they sell. Audi does it on select vehicles. What they are getting is a similarly designed valved muffler like what HMS sells and inside the cabin usually on the center console is a button that opens and closes the valve to make the exhaust louder/quieter immediately at anytime. If this is the case HMS's systems will hook right up to it. If it's not the case they provide a switch that can be installed in the cabin and run to the flap on the muffler. Does this explain it a little better?

Any pics of the actual exhaust laid out or on the car?

Yes, that explains it better. FYI that there is a competitor out there that sells a remote control unit for the bypass valves.

Agency as in Agency Power? If this is who you were referring to, I just checked out their site and they only list down pipes available.

http://www.agency-power.com/catalog/...tgnd3mim1m1be0

IPE has the wireless technology in their systems but lack the product range. They only have one Mercedes offering and its for the C63 and its a complete header back system. In comparison HMS has 4 or 5 different options for the C63.

Meisterschaft offers similar valve controlled technology as HMS but their products are just muffler systems. For similarly priced mufflers with valves from Meisterschaft you get a complete cat back exhaust system that's handmade (just like your AMG Engine) and TUV approved, requires zero cutting or welding for installation.

When figuring HMS Tuning's product range and offerings, quality and TUV certifications, and their amazing sound..... they are truly in a market all by themselves.

IPE has the mufflers only and they will build it to custom specs.
I already have downpipes and without the resonators, it is too loud. That is the reason why I am looking for just the catbacks with OEM tips with valves.

I have some good news. I spoke to Germany and they can build a system with out exhaust tips so that you can keep your stock exhaust tips. Feel free to email me if you want to talk further.

Here's a inside look into their mufflers.

As for the question above, all of HMS's exhausts are guaranteed not to lose any power and in most cases you will see a marginal increase in power over the factory exhaust.
