I Had Turbobacks on my E63. I posted it in the w212 forum. The difference between Turbobacks and cat delete downpipes was drastic. The maximum horsepower wasnt what was such a change but all across the powerband it makes the M157s torque accessible immediately. It feels like an NA engine with world bending torque. Also, the car sounds like a raspy ripping raging muscle car. I had turbobacks and resonator only and it sounded like a w204 C63 with headers. I unfortunately totalled that car and if I could do the same mods to my current CLS63S, I'd do it again.
I have a 2014 cls550(m278), my turbo bridges are 2.5 inches in diameter and my MBH downpipes are 3 inches in diameter. Is it okay to run 3 inches even though the bridges are only 2.5 ? I honestly chose 3 inches because of the sound difference overall but I would love to hear some feedback!
All those downpipes without bridge pipes are waste of money, just decat your original one and you get the same output as those downpipes cause the upper 2.5" section remain the same, the true downpipes are the one with back turbo pipes.
so my downpipes have cutouts that are 2.5 inches so they can fit the bridges, I think it’s still a good investment overall, there’s no point to upgrade the bridges unless upgrading to m157 turbos.
I will be installing VRP bridgepipes and downpipes on my cls550 in the coming weeks. I plan to get it on the dyno before and after so I atleast have a baseline of the numbers this mod makes. It is still hard to find any concrete evidence of the benefits the mod has.

these will have zero effect aside from sound without a tune. Dowpipes alone with tune are good for 30-45 hp with tune which is substantial.
New here. Curious question as I can't find it in the owners manual or anywhere online. Does the turbo coolant reservoir take the same coolant as the main engine coolant reservoir? Just want to make sure. 2014 Cls550 4matic. Appreciate it.
I just finished working on my own, custom downpipes. They are currently being ceramic coated, so not 100% complete. I decided to give 3d-printing a try and here's what I have done with that (more photos of completed pipes to follow). I also have charge pipes modified for a 52mm BOV.
not sure how many people would actually be interested in them. the pipes need custom exhaust work and are not "plug and play" so to speak. the size difference between the 3" and stock are almost double. I will add a side-by-side comparison below to illustrate that. the pipe on the left is stock cat inlet. it would easily fit inside the downpipe with plenty of room left over

I would need to think about it. all those pipes on my pictures are actually custom fabrication work for my own use. I could figure out the fabrication if anyone would desperatly want something done.. would need charge pipes as cores. the BOV itself is around €400 or so, I believe. oh yeah.. the downpipes are coming together - here's an image of my newly ceramic coated downpipe.

There’s still quite a bit to sort out before the engine and pipes go back into the car. I want everything properly tested and validated before even thinking about offering them to anyone else.
