I couldnt imagine anything more unsafe lol think if you hit an oil patch also i cant even count how many times ive been going only like 70 and a stupid motorist has gone into my lane with out looking or judging my on coming speed... cool vid though!

you are supposed to check constantly, not just once and go.

check your side view, check your rear view, check your sideview and look while you are switching lanes.
You should also notice how fast the people behind you are going, and also give some time after you turn on your signal before you go.

Sure, that's what you SHOULD do. What the vast majority of motorists ACTUALLY do is to make a cursory glance in the mirror (if they do that much) and then merge over. Further, as chiphomme noted, nobody driving on a highway expects a 130 mph speed delta between their vehicle and the one overtaking.

I'm all for having fun with my car, but the guy in that video is an a$$hole who has no business with a car like that. If he wants to go out and risk his own life, that is certainly his business, but he has no right to make that decision for others.

Last I checked, the punishment for making an improper lane change was a modest fine, not the death penalty.

I have done some crazy a_s sh_t in my days, nothing can scare me. I have crashed motorcyles at over 130mph, I have raced at Daytona and bumped other motorcylce riders at over 180mph. I have driven some of my cars at over 200mph, but that 15 seconds of video scared me to death! That has got to be one of the most dangerous and stupid things I have ever seen. It's one thing to F around on public roads (clear of other traffic) and put your self at risk, but to endanger the lives of other innocent motorist is just plain stupid. Sh_t like that gives us all a bad name. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid!

you know what I mean, I don't care if you follow all the procedures in the DMV, nothing can prepare you for that kind of speed. what that vette was doing was just plain stupid!!
