Engine Off while Driving
How does ones turn off the engine in an emergency while driving with the Keyless Entry (no key fab in the ignition)?
I tried depressing the start button while driving, even holding it for some time.

This could be considered a serious safety issue, especially while speeding along on the So Ca freeways at 186mph.

On the plus side for AMG's, in neutral or park the engines only rev to about 3500-4000, so no need to worry about over-revving.

If you could turn it off
while running down the road you would not want to
you lose power steering and power brakes
Not good with 2 tons of mass needing to be controlled in some fashion![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Just shift to neutral per the guys that have already contemplated what to do in the event of a throttle emergency.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
The rev limit park and neutral feature is also on non AMG models

Doubt it. It hasn't been a problem yet for it to need replacing/recalling on KG cars. If your car suddenly starts speeding on it's own (if this is what you're talking about), shift into neutral. You should be able to turn off the car in neutral, but not sure if you can if the car's moving.

Thanks for being the ginny pig. I'll try it. The reason I posted the issue, is in the unlikely event I need to turn off the engine while driving, I can do it.

In pre safe the car turns itself off during an "event" that triggers the sensors.

Looks like the best bet is to shift into neutral and deal with any problems while the engine is on (hopefully not on fire).
