@Drifter2090 I did! To be honest, I dont miss them. Car looks marginally better with the spacers, but will be less strain on the hub etc without them.

Car diagnostic tool
how did this diagnostic tool work for your CLS55? I have the same vehicle I just bought about a month ago with 85k miles on it..having some issues with remote key fob not working to lock and unlock and tele aid communication sos message coming across saying drive to workshop so I was hoping maybe I can take care of all this myself possibly…
also I wanted to adjust the ride height some and saw a video of someone doing so with a different plug in tool and on an E55 but I assumed maybe could be done with this tool as well..I saw the picture referring to ride height and would buy it just for the purpose alone if it can be adjusted

@r.dub23 its a great tool for scanning and some service related procedures (like disabling/enabling the SBC computer). Adjusting ride height is not an option with this unit, only checking the input from the sensors as you can see in my pics. If you want to adjust ride height via a tool, then you will need a more advanced unit or go the Xentry/STAR way

Replaced the idler puley
Also replaced the serpentine belt tensioner. The pulley was making a lot more noise than expected. I found this tensioner with a iron pulley instead of a plastic one. The double idler pulley will be upgraded with a billet one in due time.

Bought a new Exide EA1000 battery, to replace the old Varta G14 battery. As I removed the old Varta, it was apparant that is was leaking (?)...First time I have encountered a leaking car battery in all cars that I have owned
Voltage when resting was only 11.5v, which points to battery deterioration
The old Varta in place
A bit hard to see, but it was leaking right below where the battery was situated
And the new Exide in place

Wow yeah I have never encountered a leaking car battery before!
Good thing you got it swapped. I got mine swapped too after fixing the battery drain, it was still under warranty luckily!

Not anymore compared to years ago. If we get snow, its only for a short period of time and not that extreme. I wont be buying winter tyres for the CLS, instead I will take the VW Lupo from my girlfriend which has proper all season tyres. In the Netherlands, we pretty much can get away with good all season tyres

Ow interesting indeed! I didnt even know there was a difference. There is a molded trimpiece which fills this gap and shields the battery, where I can put a lot of stuff (2x safety vests (mandatory here), some grocery bags, etc). And above that is the big flap which should be identical

My car was reviewed a little while ago by a dutch car enthousiast site. Unfortunately for you guys, its written in dutch, but you can always try a translate tool Just checked, it translates pretty well
Dutch; https://driveaholic.nl/rijtest-merce...s-55-amg-2005/
Translated to EN: https://driveaholic-nl.translate.goo..._x_tr_pto=wapp
[edit]
He also manages his own Dragy leaderboard with the cars that he tested. Funny to see that my CLS is as fast as an AMG A45S for 80-120kph and as fast as a Audi eTron GT for 100-200kph, not bad for a 17 year old 1900kg weighing car

And the pictures from my custom intake pipes
I used a 80mm > 102mm (4 inch) 45 degree silicone reducer with 4 inch velocity stacks. I had to cut/modify the velocity stacks a bit, because they were bumping against the rocker covers.
The pretty purple velocity stacks
Presto! Big hose clamps are on the way for the velocity stack side. Cars pulls nice and hard, but the IATs have also dropped due to the colder weather. So no scientific data to support my mod at this point

Seems like the rear right wishbone was missing the protective/aero cover, so I ordered a new one. Fortunately, only 9 euros and easy placement without the need for any tools
