Thanks man! No not really to be honest. Maybe mirror covers, but to be honest I also like them in iridium silver. Also interior wise, I also like the gloss black together with the black leather.
I could, but Im a long way from making that decision, so enough time to think about it. I know that headers make a big difference performance wise (also in making the engine run a bit cooler), so it should be on my list
Can you perhaps get mid tube headers and HJS high flow cats?
My car has a 80mm TB (no hiccup), K&N air filters, mid tube headers with only secondary oem cats, 88mm pulley and Kleemann cams and was dyno tuned resulting in 565hp measured on a MAHA MSR 500 dyno, which is quite accurate.

Damn, I found this thread and headers should be higher on my list than a pulley after seeing these pictures....Makes absolutely no sense to run with stock headers

Great progress, the CLS will always look like a wicked Mako shark to me - mean and brutal.
Quick question - do you remember where you bought the LED license plate lights and how difficult was it to replace? Second, do you know if the CLS and E55 cars use the same lights and same replacement procedure? Thank you.

@ArmoE55 Link for the lights, it only takes 2 small torx screws (per side) to take them out. The item says its compatible with W211 platform, so should be plug and play as well for you. I recommend to add some tinting tape on them to tone the LED intensity a bit down (matter of taste).

I like the MAKO reference, I might have to name my car MAKO now

Replaced the rocker cover gasket on the right side (cilinders 1-2-3-4) for the second time. Oil was leaking out and dripping on the exhaust manifold, which created a funky smell off course
Degreased the mating surface for the rubber gasket
New gasket in place and torqued it down to 10Nm. Havent had time yet to do a shakedown.

Added some heatwrap to the intake pipes as a small supporting mod. Noticed that this already been tried and tested over here (found some older topics)
Had white tape lying around, did not choose white in particular.
End product

5 hours for a steering wheel cover.
Man, you have some serious patience!
Looks good
Just curious, are you going to address your headlights and if so what will you do? (mine look like yours, driver side is foggier than passenger
I think the aesthetics of clear lamps takes years off of the car (especially since mine is black)

Haha thanks @MB Knucklehead , and imagine I have done it before on my previous cars. Thats quite some time invested :P I absolutely love the added grip and thickness
Headlights, Im not sure yet. A month or 2 ago I was totally ready to paint the insides black. But right now Im not sure I like it on a silver car. Especially since I'm also contemplating on going back to silver wheels. 1 Thing I know for sure, buying new glass (or plastic covers) to clear them up.

I thought I read (or saw) somewhere that the best solution to achieve this and save the existing plastic entails cleaning them from the inside rather than the outside (like I did). I will try to dig that up. I think it will make a huge difference.

The best way I have found to restore and keep the headlights looking new is to use auto paint clear coat. Check out @tlambert thread detaling it here: https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...eadlights.html
