Used C32 pricing???

What a reasonable price to pay for a used C32 with about 8K miles. This car was delivered the first month of release in the US. The car stickered for about $52,500 and I've seen new ones discounted by about a $1000. I was thinking $48K, but I thought that might be too high to offer. I haven't seen the car yet, but it's my understanding that it's in perfect condition.

Question Depends on options

Well I am guessing if it stickered for 52500 the only options it has probably is the metallic paint and xenons. I am not sure but is that what the MSRP is... Well 8k miles for 48k I don't think that is a good deal... I have seen about 3k miles for that price.... If you want to purchase a new one, I can refer you to my salesman.. Probably can give you 1k off sticker...

Well that was my question. What should I tell my friend to offer the guy for this car. I thought $48K based solely on a guess. I checked Autotrader and found one at Chevy dealer asking price of $45K.

Chevy dealer most likely don't know what they have. there was one time i drove around some dealership and came across a Chevy dealer and they have a used 98 M3 4-door and it has only 10k miles on there and they are only asking for $25k...that M3 is at least $35k in that kind of condition and miles on the odo.

anyway...with the quite large demand of the C32 i wouldn't be surpriced to see the dealer sell them used only a couple thousand below the msrp.

Talking Frank has a point

:o

Frank does have a point.. Because currently there are only 2 C32's in all of Houston at the local mercedes dealership and both of them are demos and base model but they are asking 53k with about 2k miles on it... So they are actually asking more then MSRP haha.. But I am guessing offer the guy 46k and he will prob sell for 47k... just my hunch....hope that helps...

It's not for me, but it is being sold by a private seller to one of my fathers clients. At $45k it becomes interesting to me for a daily driver, but I need to keep my truck/daily driver for this purpose until I finish my remodeling projects and sell my place later on this year.

When I got the E55 almost 3 months ago, the dealer had 2 C32s, one new and one with 3800 miles. they wanted 54k for the used one, while they wanted 52.5k for the new one.
I asked whiy the difference, the used one didn't even had the CD changer, he said it is a brillian silver, high demmand, the new one was Desert silver.

So I think if you can get it for 50 to 48k go for it. IMHO.

I too am in the market for a C32 AMG, and finding one at a good price is hard. Alot of it depends on where you are at, Basic law of "Supply and Demand" 8k in miles at that price is alot. i have seen some with less miles 3-5 less ranging 43k-52k. But color, options are also a consideration. Once the 2003 models hit U.S. shores, prices will drop, I hope

Actually, prices should start to drop around this time since dealers are trying to get rid of there 20002 models.

the AMG models are unlikely to be affected by the year change because of their limited quantity. maybe half way into the 03 the 02 will drop dramaticaly but currently it is very unlikely. the used C32 might be only a couple thousand off the original msrp right now if the mileage is not to bad. by the end of 2002 it might drop more.

my friend bought a used 01 CLK55 AMG at the end of last december. it was well into the end of the first half of 02 production. the sticker price for that car was still $69k when he bought it. the mileage was around 5k something.

All of the above
Used C32 pricing

I sell MB in PA and we have sold 2 used C32s. We just sold one with 200 miles on it for $50,700 (with Xenons and COMAND).
list was about $55. A great deal! Also sold a Demo with about
1,800 miles for $1K off of list (plus lux tax paid). I have not seen one sell for less than $50K yet. I think $46-$48 for a car with 8,000 miles sounds about right.

Used C43 with 10k has value of $46k

So I highly doubt you will be able to pick up a used C32 for less than 49 or 50. May the force be with you but dont forget these are limited production vehicles and that carries some significant value.

I've seen C43's going for 30-40k, not one as high as 46k though.

just last month i have checked the www.cars.com for the used price for the C43...cuz i was bored. anyway i search the LA area and there were three C43 available for between $33-$36k, but those three C43 has some very high mileages though around 50k miles. one is a 99 model and other two are 98's.

i still think those are some very good buys since they are still AMGs

I have recently seen advertised one for a little over 45k with 6600 miles, and one with 1740 miles for 52k. It just depends on various variables. One thing for sure is that "My money" will not burn a whole in my pocket.

$48K is a great price for a C32 with 8k miles. Try to see if he can give it to you for $45K. Mine stickered for $52,500 with silver paint as the only option. The out the door price I paid with tax and license is $58K. The guy took off $10K for 8K miles which is not bad, but he can do better if he needs to sell the car fast for a reason. Take advantage of the situation.
