60' 1.987
300' 5.569
1/8 8.535 mph 82.12
1000' 11.061
1/4 13.185
mph 106.52

this was my best run when the temp was right around 80deg (I dont know what the humidity was). What I am more disappointed with is the shifting. As I have posted before I would love to firm it up, I think I am losing a good .2-.3 (tenths of a second) if not more over the slow shifting. Now I did take the C32 on Friday to have the HID coded into the car and they said that they were replacing some part in the tranny (dont know what it does, but is on order) I am hoping that fixes the "problem". I am also going to take the car next week to dyno it (dynomometer) and see what it is pushing to the rear wheels. How much do you guys think an LSD might help on the launch??
Last night was a blast man.. I enjoyed watching your beast do its runs.. 13.18 is nothing to be ashamed with man... try 15.5
I had fun though... I was also told that the driver adapting transmission may be keeping me from getting the 15.1 promised by MB.. We should try that crazy rest method next week... are you going?

I have talked to Quaife but they need at least 10 to 15 orders before they will build it for the C32. I don't want to take this project on as they need the parts from the rear diff to do it.

we dont need LSD for the track... DeadRinger, we have the same engine mods and I did 12.8 and 12.9 @ 108-110mph consistantly. One of my best runs was a 12.7 @109mph. This was of course before I did the camber kit (which made a huge difference since im lowered) and before I fixed a minor boost leak i was having. I cant wait to hit the track this cold season. BTW, my elevation was sea level... what was yours?

I think that an LSD would be good for the guys runing street rubber. I dont get any wheel spin with the DRs, but I do with street tires. I am pretty sure that an LSD would be worth a couple tenths becasue the active diff on our cars does alot of braking when launching. That can rob alot of power on launch.

Current pricing on LSDs from:

Brabus (Salisbury style) - $8900, plus $700 labor - car is down for 2-3 weeks as the diff travels to Germany and back - to become LSD.

MKB - (Torsen style) Wheel Power - $5900, plus $600-$700 labor - exchange, core not known.

Kleemann - (Phantom Grip style) - $2300, plus $1000 labor, very simple itteration of LSD.

AMG - (Salisbury style) - $4500 - $5500, plus $600 labor, hard to get.

Quaife - (Torsen style) - price could be under $2500 if we can get 15 owners willing to put down deposits and wait for production.

Question Lsd

Quaife is the best deal. The last conversation I had with them is like, Vadim said, 15 LSD's for about $1600.00. The problem is how do we collect the money or get people to commit!

elevation is about 1100+ feet, what does that convert to at sea level? Also the temp was about 80 degrees, when it cools down I should pull a little better. I think that would be able to launch a little bit more aggresively if I had both tires puttin the power down. As it is I am launching about 1100 rpms and I spin pretty badly.

I deal with traction issues every single day, and I'm amazed that my AMG car didn't come with an LSD when they come on factory 3-series that cost $20K less. That said, i have to believe that there are indeed 10-15 owners here that would gladly plunk down the deposit - me included.

Anyone reading this thread who has not done so, please lend your support HERE - there is still hope!

i don't really think the eisenmann is doing much since it's just a muffler. be it that there is less restriction, i can't believe it would be more than a 1-2hp increase at most. investing in a set of headers would definitely be more bang for the buck in terms of horsepower.

i just got a set of 18" renntech monolites, so hopefully throwing those on will drop my time a little bit. headers might come one day, just not now.

Dang,
Mid 12's in a C32 is awesome

Josh,
Whats up man? You need to take your car to another track. I have recently put on my SL-55 intake and green filters and my car feels faster. I need to get back out there.
Have you gotten any slicks yet?

Nice times FongFlex!

Who has knowledge about Optima batteries and which one I should buy? What will be the benefits (weight, etc.)? Also, I plan on putting a couple 10" subs in the trunk, so need a battery that can do the job.

That's for sure... I definitely would like to take it to a different track. I haven't bought slicks yet, but I plan on taking it to the track on Dec. 2nd. Should be nice and cold out. Are you going to be in town?
