Took delivery Thursday

Hello all! I am now a proud owner of a 2005 C55. Would have posted pics earlier, but it was too fun to stop driving.

Happy 4th!

Where did you have the sirius antenna installed? I can see you didn't go with the factory install.

RawAMGpower,

Good eye. Dealer found a car with all the options I wanted except the satellite radio. They will install it when the parts come in.

Sombralobo:

You look like you live in Freehold. David Michael eh? I got mine at Ray Catena. I'm in Marlboro and our cars look very similar.

Same color outside, same de-badging, mine is grey inside vs. black. Enjoy this car! I had mine on Route 18 at 125mph 4200 rpm so it can really, really move!!!!!!

Get yourself a V1 if you don't already have it. You'll need it. Delimited, there's no telling how fast this thing can go!

But this vehicle has two souls, race driven and cruise driven.

Also, I think yours and mine are the only ones in the area.

Make sure they will be using the new smaller color matched antenna. It looks a lot better then the older large one. Some people still don't like it they say it looks like a zit instead of a wart, but I think it actually looks good. The new one is the same style as the nav antennas that were used on SLK's, CLK's and SL's.

Thanks for the heads up, FrankW. I'll see if they can find a more discrete location, like on the rear decklid or something. If it's the new smaller one, I might have them install it on the roof near the other antennae. Luckily, it's not the big shark fin.

Wait a sec... You mean if I want to get Sirius installed, it won't use the factory antenna like my A6?

Unfortunately if you want the installation and the system to be covered under the factory warranty you need to have it installed on the trunk lid. Installing it on or under the rear deck on a W203 I do not recommend the reception from those locations is terrible you will have continuous drop outs. Also, installing it on the roof near the other antenna is another method that is ill advised because there is no antenna line running to that spot and on top of that even if they use the new smaller antenna they will still need to drill a hole on top of the roof to install it which they do not a have a template for, but they do have one for the trunk lid.
