Adding a subwoofer to W203 C32 Comand

I've searched for this, because I know it has been discussed, but all of the threads I have seen didn't really give me the answers I was looking for. I basically want to put one 12" subwoofer in the spare tire "hole." How would I go about wiring the amplifer remote lead? How would I cut into the speaker lines to supply the signal for the subwoofer? I basically want to keep the stock speakers and amp for now, I just want to add a nice amp/sub combo for some extra thump.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone?

Maybe I would get more response in the C32 forum. Will a moderator move this please?

no one really knows a simple way to do this. issues with fiber optic. some people did it, but it took quite a bit of effort and $

Disconnect the woofer in the rear parcel shelf and use that line as a speaker level input.

Is it really that easy? I thought it was more involved than that.
What's the output of the stock power amp ?

I just tapped off of the speaker wires and used a line converter. The converter cost $30 or something and is really easy to use. It has nothing to do with the F/O of the car when working on adding a sub.

You can wire your remote lead to a keyed power source so the amp turns on when you start the car.

Based on your comments I'm assuming that you disconnected and left the stock SW in place and install a new one somewhere else, true ?
I was wondering if there is an easy way to reuse the existing slot since I don't like having a box in my trunk. The stock SW looks really thin tho.. maybe thats why it sounds so crappy.
