Rear Rotors...

Anyone ever considering changing the rear rotors to match the front cross-drilled ones?

Do you mean cross-drilling them? Or actually replacing the rotors with ones like on the front?

I think it would seriously upset brake balance. Not to mention it would take some serious engineering to get the cailpers to work, or to replace out the rear calipers.

I'd be careful drilling the rotors, too - unless it is done very carefully microfractures will occur. That would be bad.

JamE55 - How do you think these compare to Brembos?

jswedberg - Naw man, i'll replace everything rotors and matching calipers (not AMG tho cuz I don't think they make them). These are your brakes, you don't want to go cheap on them (well, you don't want to go cheap on anything either).

replacing the rotors wouldnt upset the brake balance at all. it would keep the rotors cooler and look better no doubt! I saw a Cl the other day with Brembo brakes on it with high gloss black calipers. It looked SOOO good.

If you take off your caliper and look on the other side, it says BREMBO on it, despite AMG being painted on the front.

The C32 brake calipers are made by Brembo, and are very good for stock brakes. However, they do not compare to the 13.1" or 14" kits offered by Brembo. These kits use an entirely different caliper, about twice the size (length and width), originally designed for the Ferrari F50. Trust me, once you go with a Brembo Big Brake Kit, nothing else is the same.

Mach,

Is the big brake kit for both front and rear brakes? I'm only interested in the rear rotors/calipers.

We can have Brembo make a rear kit, fitted and tested, for your car. The question is, would you want it to be designed for your stock front calipers or for the big 14" kit?

Thanks

Ben
