how do you set the pointer to always point up and not north?? i read the manual and played with the settings, but couldn't find it.

You cannot change the orientation if you are just using the map feature(north always on top) however you can change to orientation (north on top or direction of travel on top) when you are using the navigation. Your manual shows you how.

I hate the fact that it cant change to vehicle direction on normal map mode 
BTW I think the vehicle position lags the map display by about 200 yards is it mine (I have 18`wheels) or do they all do this?

18" wheels however probably have little to do with it, but IANAM/E/Magellan

I'm not sure if you are in a C32 or a C55 but I can change the orientation on my NAV so the pointer is always up in Map or Nav mode, I did have my unit replaced but I'm sure this is typical.....If you play with the settings I'm sure you'll find it, if not let me know and I'll look at what the sequence is.

Push the map button, when the map is displayed push any of the 5 black buttons on the right side of the screen, a blue box with the word "display" in white letters will show in the upper right of the screen push the button next to the word display, a row of boxes will be displayed on the left side of the screen, push the button next t the word "view", an option for north up, or direction up will come up, move the "joystick" up or down to highlight heading up push the joystick in push the "back" button and you are done.

whoa! thanks Marktini.. you went above and beyond, and its very much appreciated. my 32 is at the dealer, so i will give it a shot when i get it back. thanks again.
