As long as the only thing that blows is the charger and not my engine
This is precisely what is going to detonate itself - the engine.

Bad tuning, high air temperatures, extended period of high loads equals damaged or even destroyed engine.

This is exactly what happened to Lihn's CL55.

Are you trying to see if laws of physics do not apply to your car?

This experiment is going to cost you over $25,000, besides depreciation of your C55.

I can not even wish you any luck, because this is going be a definitive event. Sort of like banging ones head against cement wall and expecting the wall to crumble.

How many C55's do you still have on the lot because I may need one if my luck is bad on Wednesday?

We have three left - black, white and silver. All with Xenons and Premium Package.

In the end I hate to be the benefactor of your decision to destroy your engine.

Don't do it Robert! Save your time and money and take that HPS G2 off. If I were you, I would get some suspension for the track. I have been to that track in a CRX that ate Supra's, Vette's and twin turbo 350z's. Handling is means much more than HP. Also the heat is going to kill your beautiful ride, weather heat and supercharger heat. Can you at least add Aquamist before you go? I sure wish I had your money.

Car Survived! I almost did'nt

The first thing that went wrong was I went to Button Willow but the event was being held at Willow Springs which is 100 miles away. I got there just in time for lunch but missed half a day! What a bonehead I was.

Secondly the organizer who said he ordered my helmet told me that he forgot my size and did not order it!

So I had to bum a helmet off a friend just to ride with the instructor for a few laps in a SC'd Mustang. I almost threw up because the car was going sideways most of the time skidding on almost every turn.

Then my friend took me on a few laps in my own car and it handled much better than the instructor's Mustang. On the straights it blew past almost everything on the course . There were 2 NASCAR cars, 2 Indy type Car, 2 modified Vipers, 1 Ferrari, 1 Ford GT, 1 Porshe GT3, several Porshe 997's, Boxters, 1 E55, 2 C55(including mine), 2 M3s 1 C32, 1 S4 and quite a few Vettes, Zs, G35s, Lancer EVOs, WRX-STIs and Mustangs.

When I finally got a chance to drive my own car after waiting forever on an available helmet I lined up with the advanced drivers and had to pull off at the last second because I had the wrong colored-bracelet.

On top of that, I did'nt tape up the front of my car like everybody else because I arrived late and ended up with a massive chip on front hood!!! I wished I would have installed the CLEAR BRA shortly after I bought the car.

Next time, I'll be better prepared. I just ordered an awesome Carbon Fiber Helmet, Hi-temp brake pads and will modify my suspension, tires and install the Quaife LSD before I hit the track again in August or September. I will probably also install the headers and exhaust because the louder sound draws everybody's attention as the cars go by!

A Chip on the hood??? Oh come on now theC32 has 10,000 of those!! We will one up your stone chip with a cracked windshiend from wednesdays track
event. But we also ran the car in over 6 sessions and wore through two front tires (down to the cords on both)

The C32 worked PERFECTLY. THe newly revised intercooling system lowered out intake temps by over 70 degrees. We had no issues with DME shutting the blower off like before due to excessive intake temps etc.

The quaife worked flawlessly and made the car far more controlled. That was the first time we really had time to enjoy the LSD and I can say the W203 AMG cars should ALL have an LSD. The car now just claws out of corners and I no longer fight to stay on the tail of 996 turbos!

We were able to hit 132-133 on the front straight before needing to hit the brakes and that is a great figure. Brandon said the HPS car was only getting to 125 or 127.

Wish I had had a second to take a spin in your car. Would have loved to plug my data logger into your car and see how it does with intake temps etc.

Next time register with Open Track Racing and save yourself half the cost. They have events every 6 weeks during the non peak heat months and they only cost $145. The drivers in that group are very skilled and I have never felt at danger with them a foot from my bumper (in the advanced group). Some of the 996 drivers with speed gallery were down right hazardous. The silver Turbo driver was insane I think. I have never seen such hazardous behavior. You NEVER nail the brakes in the middle of a corner when you have a train of 5 cars stacked up behind you trying to get a point by. And to think he watned to keep us all behind him. A C180 could have gone faster than that 996 TT!

Lets hit the track again soon!

It still sounds like a fun day. I think I know the guy in the Mustang. Was it silver and the guy works at a Ford Dealership?

Glad nothing happened.

Hey Vadim

The C55 made it through the day but I can say he was not driving it like he stole it. He was moving but its not as if he was tracking it for an hour straight at 100% max.

There was a Black E55 there too. I wanted to see how the C32 did against that car on the straights but he was in the yellow group (slowest group). There were 60 cars in the first yellow session of the day. It was like watching the 405 freeway driving around the big track at will. Priceless!

Now had Steve and I been driving the C55k in question. That motor might have been at the service center about now!

I am just glad that I was wrong and you and Steve did not get a chance to drive it Brandon's C55.

God, I missed getting on the track.

Once I get a bit settled in at MBLN, I will get back out.

It's funny but Brandon took it easy on my car on the track but I consistently did over 160mph on stretches of Interstate 5, 99, 58 and 14 while I was trying to make it from ButtonWillow to Willow Springs. The car lunged instantly from 60mph to over 150mph in a heartbeat and was steady as a rock even the though all the cars I passed looked like a blur. These AMG cars are amazingly stable, even for a C-Body

Carvin, Can you tell me where I can get the cooling upgrades AND the Quaife? As for the Headers and Exhaust. What shop can install High-Flow cats legally? I've heard that headers don't add that much power unless you replace the cats.

After I upgrade the cooling with your sugggestions, then I would like you to test drive my car at the next track event and give me your honest feedback on the power and speed. So far I have not had any competition on the streets.

It looks like I'm going to be one big tracking fool from now on!

His name is Kaylo and he drives a charcoal grey Mustang with Galpin plates. I think he might be the same guy you are talking about. The car's got great power and he was damn good driver. I was scared ****less because the rubber skidded right up to the ridge on every single turn. That's how aggressive his driving was!

Vadim,

It is possible to install a complete 2003 E55 kompressor engine in my car with no problem what so ever? I found a complete engine with factory supercharger for $12K. The only problem i can think of, are the ABC pump. I don't know if it can re-mount back onto the E55 engine. Could it be mount onto the same location as the E55 suspension air pump?

I think you're talking about my event organizer named Peter. I'm still a little PO'd about him not having my helmet ready as promised but he seemed like a nice guy in person. I ended up signing with the Porsche team from Speed Gallery but there were a few other makes from this group. (Beamers, Benzos, Audi S4 and a WRX)

Kalo is an insane driver. He's the guy who puts on all the Open Track Racing (OTR) events. His group of open track drivers is really a great bunch. I have been out with 6 different clubs (maybe more) and that group is likely the best.

Kalo normally just drives other peoples cars at the track. He used to have a Vipper Comp coupe but I think he ended up selling it. Hes "between track ******" right now .

Sign up with OTR next time they have a track day and you wont be angry. You have to get your own brain bucket but thats something you will use for many years to come so not to worry.

Hey buddy, i think you jump the gun way to early. Since Vadim can't help me get South Bay Mercedes to install Kleemann sc on my car and Josh wouldn't help me because i pissed him off. Now, i found these engine same price as the Kleemann sc kit, sound like is a good idea but there's no chance of me doing this unless i can find a shop that has done this type of conversion before. I will not put myself throught another nightmare like in the past. God, this is like a dream come true if it can be done.

Almost anything can be done if you have the right guy for the job and money to burn. It ain't a walk in the park either. Expect to buy many new parts (new DME, coding, etc). You'd probably end up spending $20K for the complete conversion.

How about at the next Willow Spriings event. At only $145 for a full day of legal racing it's a bargain! I paid $300 to the SpeedGallery on Wednesday. Somehow I feel this car is breaking in now and should yield much better results than 386rwp at MT.I'm getting another dyno today and will post the results. If I lose I'll be a good sport.

Lihn, I think in you will better off selling your CL55 and getting a 04-06 CL55. You can not beat factory install.

Just completed Traffic School last month. I think I remember that if you go over 100mph on the streets and get busted they confiscate your car and it's a felony! On the freeway might be a safer bet but it would have to be pretty far from the city and I better upgrade my radar detector. I'll look into a local raceway in Fontana, Irwindale or Pomona for availability and PM you.
