New C32 Owner
Hey All...
I just bought my very first mercedes benz and it's a c32 AMG. I love her to death; she's gorgeous and handles like a true lady.
I got pulled over about a year and a half ago in my toyota supra twin turbo for going 115. The cop was pretty angry with me, but didn't arrest me. My liscense was suspended for a month and now I have 2 points on my driving record.
If I got any sort of speeding ticket now, I would get my liscense suspended for 2 years, (so I went and bought an AMG, smart I know
)
I wanted to find out what you guys would recommend for me as far as protection goes. I don't plan on driving fast much anymore (the speeding ticket truely taught me a lesson), but with the c32, it's just so hard to not drive around 80 or even 90 sometimes...I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about here...
So any suggestions for a laser jammer and a detector would be great...Is there anything clean that would work with the comand system or the tach computer screen? I don't want to have any sort of device on my dash to keep the clean look...

Congrats on your new sweet ride! It's a love affair that will only improve over time.
Regarding detectors, I have the K-40 laser detector/jammer and really like it. It looks factory, and is very discrete looking. A lot of folks like the Passport 8500 among others. Do some research and you can probably save a lot on ebay once you've decided upon one.

I thought that your license got suspended after 4 points?

congratz with the car.
driving over 100mph and getting pulled over is considered reckless driving and it's automatic suspension I think. My ex got pulled over on the 5fwy for going over 100mph and good thing the cop only wrote her for 85-90mph.

Welcome! I just got my c32 a little over a month ago. I see you are also in San Diego.. Seems like quite a few owners in SD, but I have only seen 2 other c32's around. I will have to keep my eyes out for ya..

im glad to see a lot of new c32/55 owners on the board lately. i've been watching the board for awhile (frequently on a daily basis) but haven't made a whole lot of comments. i've noticed in the last few weeks a lot of new members are coming to the board who are excited about their new purchase and curious about mods, good stuff. i was going to get a porsche c4s or even a modena, but can't because of the nice little insurance price.
it's going to be off my record in 1.5 yrs, so then i'll be in the market for an exotic hopefully...

actually it's 'techtite grey' which is now discontinued. i have yet to see a c32 fully loaded, or even bare bones in this color; i love it. couldn't have imagined a more beautiful color for this car...i will take more pictures of it when it's nice out...
