Question about Green Filters

Do you use oil like K&N filters? Are they oily upon touch? I'm worried about the oil being sucked into the MAF sensor and causing malfunction.

I would use the oil made for the green filter not the K&N, they said if you use the K&N oil it would change the color. green filters told me to use there product so I do

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear with my original question. What I meant to ask was - do they (green filters) use or have oil on them?

yes it does have oil on it but they said that the oil they use should not harm your Mass air flow sensor. but I dont know that for a fact.

I used them in the c32, was oil was very light and it did not upset anycodes.

I was also concerned about that. They come with their own oil, and they say to use it very sparingly on the filters, which I did. No probs so far

I just got screwed...

My car is at the dealer...they are asking 775 to fix the car..

Problem: They said that there was too much oil in the filter and it got sucked into the mass airflow meter...and they couldnt cover that under warranty coz its aftermarket....

how often do you guys clean the filters? if the recommended time isn't too often, i might just buy new green filters instead of risking my MAF.

I have been just replacing mine every 10,000 klm and tossing the old ones to avoid the risk of MAF failure
Thats why I was asking Derrick if they were new filters that caused the failure.....

Damn Derrick that really sucks man. I think the MAF only cost $350... the rest must be labor.

Neal will help you out. However, a lot of the green filters for different Mercedes models are out of stock. Mine won't arrive until some time in Feb.

Yes, the filters come pre oiled. As you all saw they come with only a bit of oil on them. You guys do not need to clean for for 30-50k miles. And when you do you must use only a VERY small amount of oil. The filter after oiled should almost even feel dry like it was not oiled.

Wow That stinks bro! they are ripping you off on the labor for sure! Mass should have only cost you two-hundred and change. You could have changed it yourself after they gave you a diag.Next time speak to your fellow members first bro! I hate the stealership!

Yep and the both of you did exactly the right thing.Buy new and screw the oiling process. It creates MAF problems for almost everyone I know that has done it.

Green Filter - Part Number

I have searched...and cant seem to find any true part number for Green Filters for a 2005 C55. I just bought it and would like to put Green Filters on. Can someone tell me the actual part number?
Thank you in advance,

Green Filters

Thanks for the response. I had been to that link before and unfortunately, there isnt anything there for the C55. I even went so far as to email them and they emailed me back that they didnt have one for my car. The guy from Green Filter who emailed me said to measure my current filters and he would try to figure out a size. I will investigate the part number that was given. I went to order two from Carxpressions.com and they didnt know a part number either.

Again, thanks to the group.

Its a shame no one knows anything about these filters, and even worse Green Filter doesn't. We have sold hundreds just for the C55 alone.

We have them here on our site

http://www.euroteckmotorsports.com/i...ail&product=82

Although we are all out of stock. So is Green Filter USA till atleast early next month.
